Sophomore ID Camp Team 4 and Team 8 Evaluations

<p>Sunday afternoon and early evening Prep Hoops Minnesota hosted the Sophomore ID Camp of 2029 basketball players of Minnesota for their annual camp. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://youtu.be/cPxqtpJrwcI?si=iGLbVQAQ-NrgRd06 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2389445' first='Ben' last='Kalimu'] is a six-foot-two-inch 2029 Minneapolis North and Mpls Hustlers/[program_tooltip program_id='2455790' first='Howard' last='Pulley'] Hoops guard. Kalimu showcased some serious bounce in transition that not a single guard in the 2029 class in Minnesota has yet. In Kalimu's dunk in the game I filmed he seemed to rise and float in the air before hammering home the dunk. In the first half if he didn't get hacked by a defender he'd had an incredible transition flush. Kalimu's quickness in tight spaces, length on the perimeter, and overall athleticism make him a very interesting guard prospect to watch.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2919848' first='Lamar' last='Clay-Jones'] is a five-foot-eleven-inch 2029 Roseville guard that played with [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] Ohnstad last spring and summer. Clay-Jones at the ID camp displayed the ability to get to the basket off the dribble and touch to finish below the rim while also making good passing decisions in close proximity. Clay-Jones has some shot creation ability off the dribble and this spring and summer with Select I remember seeing some deep 3-point shooting potential.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/streethistory/status/2099623218524852573 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2893786' first='Adonis' last='Williams Jr'] is a six-foot-two-inch 2029 guard from South St. Paul and plays [program_tooltip program_id='2075496' first='Grassroots' last='Sizzle'] MHC. Williams from last fall to this fall looks considerably stronger and is starting to look more like a big guard on the perimeter. Williams lateral quickness and length make him versatile defensively. WIlliams perimeter shooting looks to be improving and his shot looks smooth.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2429747' first='Max' last='Stalsberg'] is a six-foot-four-inch 2029 wing from East Ridge and played with SIzzle this spring and summer. Stalsberg really jumped out this spring when I saw him on the Prep Hoops CIrcuit scoring the ball from beyond the arc and off the dribble. Sunday his activity in the open floor and on the glass stood out in an event where at times players don't always put in that effort. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2960502' first='Caleb' last='Williams'] is a six-foot 2029 guard from Lourdes Rochester that played with Minnesota Lightning last spring and summer that displayed some good explosion off the dribble and in tight spaces. WIlliams who played varsity last season has no trouble competing against the best on the perimeter defensively. Williams has potential as a shooter from the perimeter and has a good natural flow at the point guard position.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2848213' first='Thomas' last='Covert'], a six-foot-three-inch 2029 Wayzata and [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] guard shined in the 3v3 competition in space scoring off the dribble at will against his competition. In the 5v5 Covert displayed his floor stretching ability as a perimeter shooter, size advantage, court IQ awareness, and general above average skill and decision making.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2350943' first='Makai' last='Robinson'] is a five-foot-ten-inch 2029 Robbinsdale Armstrong and Real Phenom guard that looked quick with the ball and showcased a tight handle at times. Robinson ran the point and brought the ball up the court with confidence and displayed some ability to get his own shots off the dribble. Robinson has a smooth compact shot release and displayed confidence in taking shots and making a few.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2414660' first='Alex' last='Cotton'] is a six-foot-three-inch 2029 forward from St. Francis and plays with [program_tooltip program_id='2075693' first='MN' last='Crossfire'] Frederickson. Cotton in the 5v5 game I filmed and watched didn't showcase a lot but seeing him over the course of this spring and summer he's a solid front-court prospect. Cotton mixes well on the court with teammates and does what needs to be done when called upon. In this environment as a player who doesn't get his own shot unfortunately he doesn't get a lot shot opportunities but Cotton is a solid contributor on the floor.</p>
