Freshmen Showcase 2026: 1st Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Saturday, September 5th&nbsp;<strong>Prep Hoops Arizona</strong>&nbsp;had the 4th annual&nbsp;<strong>Freshman Showcase</strong>&nbsp;which was hosted at Inspire Courts in Gilbert, AZ. We had around 55 freshmen who were competing in a few games of 5 on 5.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This article is&nbsp;<strong>not a prospect ranking</strong>&nbsp;but how productive they were at the camp when I viewed them.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here is the 1st Team</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3665122' first='Obatayo' last='Adigun'] St. Mary's</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A true face-up power forward with huge hands and long arms. He will score with fall aways from mid-range, offensive rebound put backs, threes off the catch or pull and dribble drives to the rim. He is a very good passer for position and will rebound and block shots.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2953190' first='Valentino' last='Barnes'] Desert Edge</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A highly skilled scoring lead guard makes it look easy in stretches. He has a super polished floater game, tough pull-up from mid-range and will hit threes off the catch or pull. He is a good passer and the two-sport athlete is also very competitive on defense.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3665120' first='Tyler' last='Dwyer Jr'] Millennium</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A true bigger combo guard who is highly skilled. He will consistently drive and kick it to a teammate and very unselfish player. He has one of the more polished mid-range jumpers off the dribble in the class and and nice stroke from deep. He is also very patient to score in the paint. He is a very good defender and will collect steals, block shots and rebound. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3693024' first='Harlem' last='Graham'] Bella Vista Prep (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger guard manages to get to his spot at will. He has a deceptively tight handle to get downhill and can handle some contact. He likes the mid-range pull-up and threes off the catch with range. He has plus length and a younger face to maybe keep growing. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3574605' first='Isaiah' last='King'] Basha</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A two-way bigger guard with some serious springs. He is a phenomenal defender making it very hard to score on him and will rebound and block shots. He will score with pull-ups from mid-range, fall aways in the post, threes and dunks. His ability to play and defend multiple positions makes him go.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2970234' first='Brad' last='Pitt'] Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the more impressive prospects in the class has great size for position, skill, athleticism for days and toughness. He has polished up his skill since my last viewing of him with mid-range pull-ups with plus elevation, threes off the catch or pull with range and high level dunks on the break way above the rim. He also will make plays and defend multiple positions.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3723944' first='CJ' last='Robinson'] Hamilton</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long, tall and lean face-up power forward. He has skill from the three point line and a good enough handle to dribble drive with longer strides past his defender to the cup. He is a very good rebounder and defender in space and inside. What stood out was his effort to close out to shooters and then blocking shots inside.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2836135' first='Myles' last='Scott'] Millennium</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A good sized guard with skill and some length. He will also make some plays with advanced court vision. He is another very competitive on defense to collect steals with his quick hands and feet. He will score with coast to coast takes after he grabs the rebound, pull-ups from mid-range and tough downhill takes with either hand.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3755503' first='Joshua' last='Williams'] Hillcrest Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger scoring guard was surprisingly one of the better players in attendance and was only a 8th grader. He has a tighter handle in close spaces and will often grab and go and take it coast to coast scoring thru the contact with his frame/build with and-1's. He also has a pure shooting stroke from the three point line off the catch or pull. He is making an early case for being a top-5 2031 locally. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
