Freshman Showcase Team 4 and Team 9 Player Evaluations

Sunday at Hopkins High School was Minnesota Prep Hoops Freshman Expo featuring incoming freshmen of the 2030 class showcasing their basketball playing abilities. Here are evaluations of prospects playing for Team 4 and Team 9 5-on-5.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cobon_SKF8o </div></figure>    [player_tooltip player_id='2848608' first='Carter' last='Neutz'] is a six-foot-three-inch 2030 Annandale and will play [program_tooltip program_id='2888391' first='Minnesota' last='Comets'] Dahl next spring and summer forward. Of these two teams I've probably seen Neutz the most over the course of the last 2 years playing for Minnesota Gold and coming to the Prep Hoops Next camps. Neutz uses his size around the basket well, rebounds both sides of the court, always solid defensively, and just solidly skilled and active front-court player.     [player_tooltip player_id='2840613' first='Austin' last='Posl'] is a six-foot-five-inch 2030 Alexandria forward that played with Central Minnesota Flash last spring. Posl has good size and length up front and is able to really grab rebounds while also finishing high over shorter and smaller players. Posl seems to have solid footwork and quickness moving laterally. His defense positioning looked advanced for his age even in this showcase environment.     [player_tooltip player_id='2862271' first='Marshawn' last='Gray'] is a six-foot-two-inch 2030 guard from Eden Prairie and [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] 3SSB. Gray this spring and summer proved to be one of the top 10 2030 players in Minnesota while utilizing his strength, size, speed, and overall versatility consistently on the floor. Gray has shown improvement as a perimeter shooter to call along with his open court transition skills.     [player_tooltip player_id='3633819' first='Grayson' last='Trent'] is a five-foot-six-inch 2030 Apple Valley and [program_tooltip program_id='2455790' first='Howard' last='Pulley'] Hoops guard. Trent in June really showed off his deep shooting range and craftiness at the Prep Hoops Next Middle School Camp. In the game Sunday I watched Trent his jump shot was falling as much as that last time I saw him coming up a tad bit short but every shot was right on the rim. Trent's biggest areas of improvement will be strength and growing in his body which seem will make a huge impact on the floor for him because he is really a skilled guard with the ball in his hands.     [player_tooltip player_id='2841176' first='Christian' last='Keating'] is a five-foot-six-inch 2030 Chanhassen and [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] guard. Keating played without the ball well as complementary guard and like I've seen him before playing Minnetonka travel and with [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'] one time this spring Keating shot the outside shot with accuracy making both of his 3-point shot attempts.     [player_tooltip player_id='2819713' first='Chance' last='Tindal'] is a six-foot 2030 guard from Jordan that played with the Minnesota Swish. Tindal displayed some perimeter shooting ability making a 3-pointer that swished so smoothly it barely hit the net. Tindal looks to be a potential secondary ball handler, possible creator with passing ability and he moves around the court with good movement.     [player_tooltip player_id='2848071' first='Jeremiah' last='Chua'] is a five-foot-five-inch 2030 Shakopee and [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] guard that showcased he can handle the ball as a lead ball handler, push the pace in transition and a knack for scoring at the rim despite his size. Chua knocked down two 3-pointers with a good smooth shooting stroke and didn't seem like he was pushing his shot at all.     [player_tooltip player_id='3596810' first='Anthony' last='Barnes'] is a five-foot-six-inch 2030 Tartan and Sizzle guard that played well as a complementary guard and  was unselfish, giving off passes when he could go for his own shots. Barnes showcased below the rim finishing skill off the dribble.     Micah McNeal is a five-foot-eleven-inch 2030 Wayzata guard that hit his 3-point attempt with what looked like a good shot motion, had enough ball handling skill to be a guard to bring the ball up, and has solid size at this age group.     Mack Longval is a six-foot-two-inch 2030 forward from Cretin-Derham Hall and [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury']. Longval attacked the basket with aggressiveness when left to bring the ball up the court and displayed an ability to finish. Solid size enabled him to grab rebounds and he passed the ball and outlets well.
