Freshman Showcase Team 3 and Team 5 Evaluations

<p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2856741' first='Jerrell' last='Washington'] is a six-foot-four-inch 2030 forward who played Varsity at Bloomington Kennedy last season and will attend Minneapolis North this coming year. The [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] 3SSB forward potential wing is impressive with strength and size at this age already, and he showed he could handle his own in the front-court last season against older and more mature opponents. Washington in this 5v5 game grabbed a rebound on the second possession and took the ball the distance for a left-hand lay in. The following possession another defensive rebounded and he hit an uncontested pull-up 3-pointer. All summer I witnessed Washington put on a display of 3&D potential looking up opponents and then drilling corner triples. Then Ochan had some bounce in his step but nothing like we saw Sunday. Plus Ochan has grown considerably since January. Mohammed has a good combination of ball handling skills, shooting and size as a freshman that gives the opposition problems. Mohammed operated early as a ball handler in screen actions utilizing the picks to get downhill quickly and all the way to the rim. Mohammed showed lead ball handling capabilities on this 5v5 team bringing the ball up and starting the offense from the point of attack.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/streethistory/status/2101038792329044242 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2382081' first='Will' last='Newton'] is a six-foot-two-inch 2030 Eastview guard that played [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] 3SSB last spring and summer. Newton is a very good spot-up 3-point shooter and he has excellent size for a guard. Will's ability to play off the ball gives his teammates an open teammate often for pulls from the outside.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='3592769' first='Blake' last='Blumer'] is a six-foot-two-inch 2030 player from Apple Valley and played with Phelps (MN Falcons). Blumer was an active runner in transition and drove hard downhill a number of times. In the summer when I saw him in a game against MN Fury Blumer impressed me with his length and two-way play. Blumer's activity on the court makes him look much like a positive court impact player.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='3766325' first='Caleb' last='Pratt'] is a five-foot-nine-inch 2030 guard from Fridley and 94 Feet of Game that displayed some good quickness with the ball and his hands when he ripped a ball handler in the open court. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='3679706' first='Joshua' last='Crawford'] is a six-foot-five-inch 2030 front-court player from Maple Grove and played with Dreamballers in AAU. Crawford does the little stuff and dirty work, rebounding, setting screens and hustle plays. Crawford was giving constant effort and great stuff out of a big man.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2817459' first='Lachlan' last='Murray'] is a six-foot 2030 Roseville guard that every time on the court he looked to be matched up with Washington, the toughest match-up offensively and defensively. Murray spent a considerable amount of energy trying to defend Washington, even a possession the 2nd half where he kept Washington from getting anywhere but by the 3-point. Washington hit a stepback when his dribble moves didn't get him past. Murray showed potential as a lead ball handler with a consistent handle and possible shooting ability when he knocked down a 3-pointer.</p>
