2026 Get In Get Out Showcase Guard Standouts

The Get In/Get Out Showcase featured plenty of intriguing guard play, with prospects from multiple classes finding different ways to make an impact. Some controlled the game with their ability to create for others, while others stood out with their scoring, shooting or defensive pressure. From established names preparing for bigger roles to younger guards beginning to make their mark at the varsity level, here's a look at some of the backcourt standouts from the event.    Roberts is a quick and crafty guard who consistently found his way into the lane and has a chance to be a productive creator this season. He made good decisions once he got downhill and showed some poise late against Hudson, knocking down timely free throws to help close things out. Roberts also plays bigger than his size defensively and competed throughout. His ability to create paint touches should continue to open things up for both himself and his teammates.     Walters has a good understanding of how to run an offense and already shows some natural instincts as a passer. He knows when to get teammates involved and when opportunities are there for him to score, while also moving well without the ball. Continuing to get stronger and becoming more comfortable creating his own advantages without a screen will be important, but the feel and passing ability give him a good foundation to build from.     Bennett has some intriguing tools to develop at the lead guard spot. His first step and handle allow him to get where he wants with the ball, and his natural instinct is to create for teammates before hunting his own offense. Becoming more aggressive as a scorer will be the next step, particularly as he adds strength and becomes more comfortable playing through contact. If the three-point shot continues to come along, Bennett has a chance to become a much more complete offensive guard.     Marchan's athleticism and competitiveness give him a chance to impact both sides of the ball. He has a quick first step, gets downhill and can elevate quickly around the basket. Defensively, he communicates, has active hands and showed a good understanding of what opposing offenses were trying to accomplish. The perimeter jumper will be something to monitor, but there's already plenty to like about the energy and athleticism he brings to the backcourt.     Fraser already possesses an advanced feel for a freshman guard. He understands how to manipulate defenders, create angles and get to his spots while also showing the playmaking ability to make the right read once the defense reacts. He finished at the rim despite giving up some size and showed enough shooting ability that defenders couldn't simply play underneath him. As he physically matures, there's a lot to like about where his combination of feel and creation could take him.     Miller looks poised to make a jump as a sophomore. The talented shooter saw an early three fall and played with confidence from there, but his impact went beyond his jumper. He showed the ability to create off the bounce, get into the lane and either find his bigs on drop-offs or locate shooters on the perimeter. His chemistry with [player_tooltip player_id='2780688' first='Payton' last='Wilson'] is already apparent, and increased opportunity could lead to a significant rise in production this season.     Ellis remains one of the more underrated 2028 guards in New Jersey, although that may not be the case for much longer. The 6-foot-1 guard plays with an advanced feel and has a knack for stepping up when his team needs a play. He did exactly that against Uniondale, connecting on timely shots to keep St. Mary's within striking distance. His ability to make winning plays and produce in big moments should continue to draw attention, and he picked up an offer from Felician shortly afterward.     Baldwin has an opportunity to take a significant step forward this season. With graduation and transfers opening up touches at St. Peter's Prep, the sophomore enters the year as one of the more proven players on the roster and looked ready for the increased responsibility Saturday. He can create his own offense, get to his spots and consistently find his way into the paint. After leading Lightning's 15U group in scoring, Baldwin looks capable of carrying that production into a much larger role at SPP.     Sincere-AmenRa continues to take noticeable steps forward and looks ready for a bigger season at Seton Hall Prep. Already one of the better combo guards in New Jersey's 2028 class, he's becoming more comfortable balancing his ability to score with creating for others. His advanced handle allows him to consistently create advantages, and he looked like the best guard on the floor for stretches against The Patrick School. As the playmaking continues to catch up with the scoring ability, his overall ceiling becomes even more intriguing.
