What lead guards do I think are under the radar and could really become better prospects? We give you those names NOW!

Keishaun might just be the best under the radar lead guard in the state of Minnesota. He's really learned how to play and has been battle tested in practice at TG making him a better player, but he also plays with Malachi and Shay who are scholarship guys. And he had a fantastic season with Minnesota Gold but I don't think he was in front of the local coaches quite enough.

I think this fall and into the winter, college coaches should get a look at the speed and quickness that this young man plays with. Has high, high level defensive pressure ability and teams are going to fear he, Shay and Hill pressuring them all season.

But Rolle can also score, and he can also run a team. I think he is one of the best under the radar players in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2824353' first='Tate' last='Goergen'] is another player that I really think has moved under the radar in this state. We do have to keep in mind, there is only so much room for lead guards that are 6'1 and under at the scholarship level, but teams need guards and Tate could be one of them. Part of the reason he was a part time 17u guy is because he's an elite track and field standout and he can go to college and do that, which is well respected. But this is the Class A version of Talan Witt to me and I think his explosive finishing and track athletic status show that.

Tate averaged 22 points, six assists, and four steals per game during the 2025–2026 season, leading the Rebels to a 29-3 record and their first ever state tournament appearance in school history. Tate was also the blonde haired guard standout at MBCA that led his team over one of the top teams.

If I had a crystal ball and I said "Future [player_tooltip player_id='2826033' first='Pete' last='Tschetter']" I think it would tell me that we are about to see Pete lead the Tigers to a 20 win season while scoring about 17-18 points a game with four-five assists a game, and Stewartville will play in the state tournament and Pete will become a top MIAC recruit.

Based on what I and others saw with the Minnesota Tigers, I think that is what we have in store. A pretty good football player too, Pete is a very smart and dependable competitor.

When you have a team that wins 40 of 44 games there are a lot of things that have to go right that work together. You have stars, you have workers, you have good coaching, and you have smart pieces. I think [player_tooltip player_id='2140559' first='Ben' last='Goring'] was that really smart piece that moved the ball perfectly and with the right timing that really helped Fury Goring be a success. I also think his defensive positioning may not have been catchy in terms of creating a lot of big moments, but his positioning was always in a spot that made things just a little tougher on the opposing guard. Guys couldn't blow by Ben, they weren't allowed an easy possession. Ben was very steady for his team.

I don't know that you would really call Nick a traditional point guard because he does have good size, and he can score in double figures regularly, but in 17u I really liked Nick as a decision maker and he didnt force much of anything. He was efficient, and those items are what make a really good decision maker at the one.

When you think about Jiech and Cook at Tech, they are going to need a distributor and I think Nick can do that. To me this is a very good D3 level prospect that is only going to get better.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126475' first='Conner' last='Watts'] is a player that I hope to see this fall and really look forward to seeing this winter. I thought he did some good things at the MBCA Camp and when I watched BSM last winter, I saw a guard that played with great pace and did a really nice job of balancing his offense with making sure the ball moved. Watts also had that defensive pressure potential that schools love. Was rarely around in 17u so didn't get a chance to see him much in that way, but I think when local colleges do get a chance to look at him, some will like what Conner does and pursue his ability.
