Southwest Basketball Camp Rising Prospects

I was in attendance at the SWBC in Phoenix, AZ. 120 student athletes participated and below I will be covering some of the top performers I witnessed. Some I also had the opportunity to coach, so I'll include that perspective as well.    Showed to be a high level defender as he matched up against some of the top guards at the Southwest Basketball Camp many who are being recruited by division 1 programs. Forced many steals and turnovers. Easily was one of the leaders in steals at the event. A true pg with a high IQ. Very shifty and knows how to change up his pace and direction to get by defenders. Made many high level passes and was also an assist leader in the event. Gill in my opinion was the top on ball defender at camp. Should be a highly sought after prospect.     Strong, college level frame, good speed and great athleticism. Beck showed he can shoot the ball very well from beyond the arc whether he was contested or open. Has a great pump fake to get his defender off balance and finishes with a score. Has the lateral speed to defend opposing guards and is strong enough to compete with opposing forwards. An intriguing prospect with a high ceiling. Can jump out of the gym. Tremendous explosiveness. Won the events dunk contest. Highly coachable and high character.     Pendleton was easily one of the top breakout players of the event. The 2029 guard played very mature for his age and played with great confidence. A sharpshooter from beyond the arc. Solid handle with good speed and footwork  when he attacks the lane. Pesky defender who didn't back away from any opponent. Extremely coachable and listened to instruction. Plays with a strong motor.     Graham is listed as a forward but showed to have the vision and skill to run the point. Shot the ball extremely well off the dribble from beyond the arc. Even hitting a couple from the NBA line. A gifted defender with a lengthy wingspan. Expect Graham to develop into one of the top prospects in the Arizona 2029 class. Went out and guarded every teams best player he faced and did a tremendous job. Quickly elevating as one of the top 2029 prospects in the state.     Smith was one of the more explosive forwards at the event. Dominant scorer at the rim and showed the ability to stretch the floor with his three ball. Plays with a strong motor and great confidence. A highly effective rebounder and just has a great overall feel for the game. Played very well in the pick and roll and impacted the game at a high level. Had some electric shot blocks during the event. Very coachable and had a great attitude no matter the situation. Impacts the game at a high level on both ends.     Hands down the best pure shooter at the event. Glass went 5/5 from beyond the arc in the first matchup I watched and stayed red hot the rest of the camp. He showed off his range again in the top 20 game knocking down another four. Quick trigger and a smooth shot. Has a strong feel for the game and plays with an incredible motor. Will be one of the top recruited shooting guards in the state.      Showed off a nice and consistent three ball. Didn't matter if it was open or contested. Attacked the rim with confidence scoring a couple times through some tough contact.  Nice dribble and footwork to space defenders and hit the middy. Had a great spurt in this game where he scored roughly on four consecutive possessions while forcing a couple turnovers in the process. A very effective player off ball as well. played with good confidence and showed to be an impact player.
