Here's my notebook from the sophomore ID camp from Sunday afternoon. Stay tuned throughout the next several weeks for evaluations from myself and all our scouts in attendance.

Illinois Top Sophomore Shows Plenty of Unselfishness

It's always a treat to see our top 2029 prospect at this event. [player_tooltip player_id='2767906' first='Ronald' last='Johnson']'s playmaking was off the charts throughout his second matchup of the day as he assisted his team's first three buckets and maintained a strong presence as a passer later on. Dribbling and defense were also a strong suit for him in this contest. It wasn't until later on where he started to heat up as a scorer. Finishing a pair of inside buckets in addition to a fadeaway three-pointer. Also drawing several fouls attacking the rim. Johnson played a great brand of basketball throughout the day at the sophomore ID camp.

Rolling Meadows Prospect to Watch

A guy to stand out for me in the middle of the showcase is Rolling Meadows guard [player_tooltip player_id='3579382' first='Rayyan' last='Khan']. Khan made a difference this afternoon with his ability for open the game up. As a playmaker, he made tons of plays in transition and often utilized some nice dribble moves to break past players in the open floor. Even showing he can let it fly at any moment with confidence. Become more effective as a scorer inside later on with three key buckets to keep them in front of that game. With his current build, I think he can grow into a great shooting guard or wing in the coming years.

Sky-high potential for [player_tooltip player_id='3586279' first='Nahshon' last='Williams']

[player_tooltip player_id='3586279' first='Nahshon' last='Williams'] was the guy who caught my eye the most in the fifth round of games. First off, his current frame at 6'3" is just the start of what I think he'll grow in to. But more important was the difference he made while on the court. The speed is there in transition and it seemed like he was a walking bucket at times. That includes a tough euro-step finish with his left hand. As well as a tough foul drawn while attacking the rim. Showing plenty of explosiveness with the ball, too. Became more of a playmaker later in the contest while also showing his defensive abilities. Using his length to his advantage. I can't wait to see the player he becomes.

2029 [program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last=''] Forwards

Several [program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last=''] prospects had really good showings this afternoon from the 2029 class. But there are two forwards I really enjoyed watching. One of them being Whitney Young forward [player_tooltip player_id='2886496' first='TJ' last='Jamison'], who showed he can fly up and down the floor in transition with plenty of bounce to his game. Also adds a smooth touch around the rim which proved to be effective towards the ladder part of this game, while working well to create separation on the inside. The physical tools and strength were a plus for him, too. His teammate at the event, Bloomington's [player_tooltip player_id='2767828' first='Dallas' last='Marshall'], also catches my eye with his versatility and athleticism. In their third game, he scored the game willing layup with just a few seconds left on the clock.

Here's my notebook from the sophomore ID camp from Sunday afternoon. Stay tuned throughout the next several weeks for evaluations from myself and all our scouts in attendance.
