Ohio Freshman Showcase: Team 1 Standouts

Regan's interior scoring was what got him noticed early but as the day went on he started showing more perimeter ability with the ball in his hands and spacing the floor out. Dublin Coffman has one of the top programs in central Ohio and Regan looks like a future star at the varsity level in a few years if he continues to put in the work. May did a nice job crashing the offensive glass and using his heigh to score at the rim. May liked using his left hand to finish at the rim as he made baseline drives to the rim. Gaines hit multiple top of the key 3-pointers and his confidence seemed to get stronger after each make. Gaines has a high arc on his 3-point shot and was finding nothing but net more often than not in that second game. The between the legs crossover was a favorite for Durell as he looked to get by his man and use floaters to score near the basket but before shot blockers could rotate to contest. Showing the skill to play on or off the basketball, Durell definitely has some ability with the ball in his hands. West had some scrappy fights for rebounds and had quick hands for loose balls. As a finisher at the rim, West put impressive spin on the ball and had some nice acrobatic layups at the rim past taller defenders. A heart over height prospect, West is a name to watch if he's able to add some height and weight to his frame over the next few years in Michigan as he flat out loves to compete.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
