KY Freshman Showcase Prospects with a Smooth Feel for the Game

He wasn't the tallest at his position, but he has a nice sized frame that gave him a physical edge against most matchups at the Kentucky Freshman Showcase. His game isn't flashy. Instead, it's his pace that sets him apart. He easily had one of the smoothest jumpers in the building regardless of if he got it off in catch-and-shoot situations or off the dribble. The naked eye might chalk some of his success up to being in the right place at the right time, but what I saw was intention. A true point guard that not only understands his role but those of his teammates as well. He served as the on-court coach for Team 1 and seemed confident being the vocal leader. His leadership and IQ at the guard position could set him up to be one of the best sleeper prospects in the class. Long term, he'll have the size and skillset that college programs covet in scholarship-level guards. At this stage of his young career, it's just a matter of the work and staying consistent on the journey. He flashed just how good he can be at the Kentucky Freshman Showcase this past Saturday, playing his best ball when he exerted maximum effort. When I finally got the chance to see Jack in action, I couldn't unsee it. His court vision stood out immediately. He's a pass-first guard who's always surveying for a chance to find a cutter through the lane. Although not the fastest guy on the court, his pace remained steady which allowed him to allude the defense and get to his spot on several occasions.
