High School Spotlight: Chesterton Trojans

The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. He is <strong>197-61</strong> as a head coach.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>A sneaky team to watch for in Class 4A. </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2878216' first='Bradley' last='Basila']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Chesterton is another sneaky team to keep an eye on in Class 4A this season because the Trojans have intriguing talent throughout the roster. Still, no player is more important to their success than 2028 forward [player_tooltip player_id='2878216' first='Bradley' last='Basila']. Basila has been one of the biggest stock risers in Indiana's 2028 class over the past several months thanks to his rare combination of size, athleticism, and upside. He is a high-motor forward who plays with force around the basket, defends multiple positions, and has made noticeable strides with his ball handling and perimeter shot. As his offensive game continues to expand, his ceiling only gets higher. Basila enters the season holding offers from Kent State, Ball State, Toledo, and several other programs, and another strong year should only continue to elevate his recruitment.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2140448' first='Tobias' last='Ray']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While much of Chesterton's success this season will revolve around [player_tooltip player_id='3550033' first='Bradly' last='Basila'], everything will start in the backcourt with 2027 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140448' first='Tobias' last='Ray']. The 6-foot-1 guard is a true all-around playmaker who can impact the game both on and off the ball. Ray plays with toughness, attacks the lane with confidence, and is a consistent threat from beyond the arc, making him a difficult player to defend. His ability to score, facilitate, and set the tone offensively will be critical for the Trojans this season.
