Future of NORCAL Showcase Top 2029's In Action

The Future of NORCAL Showcase took place at Oakland Tech High School in Oakland CA this past weekend. An annual event hosted by Simply Basketball and others that brought top players in NorCal together. On Saturday you had the Class of 2028, 2027 showcase games. Sunday PH NorCal was in the gym for the Class of 2029, and 2030 showcase games.    Harris took home MVP for the Class of 2029. He's a rising versatile prospect that makes his presence felt on both ends of the court. He was somewhat dominant working the post area. Stronger than he looks, has a variety of ways to convert around the rim, good footwork, toughness. He has the ability to handle the ball, create at times, range to knock down 3's and mid-range jumpers. He's fun to watch.     He's fine tuning his combo guard skills mixing scoring and facilitating the teams offense. He has vision and quality passing, but make no mistake he has the tools to put points on the board with his style of play. He has excellent handles, speed, and change of direction when attacking the rim. Has an improved mid-range game. He'll get steals, assists, and points.     As a rising Sophomore he has an improving skill set. His productivity is on the rise. He's good around the basket, gathering, showing patience and finishing in traffic. You can move him around a bit to attack from the high post and the perimeters. He has 3-point range, can hit the free throw jumper. At 6'6 he's getting his rebounds, still strengthening his body to handle the physical play that goes on in the paint. The effort is there.     Dotson continues to sharpen and upgrade his overall skill set on both ends of the court. He plays at a good pace, with effort. He has the length and activity to be an effective player without scoring, though he has improved on the offensive end. He's fearless on the drive to the basket, in transition, and along the baseline. He's underrated as a rebounder, has the tools to be a top notch defender.     After a good Spring and Summer Ferraioli is set for a breakout season. He's showing he can do more than knock down 3's, he can if left open. He's handling and making good decisions with the ball in hand. At this event he took on the task of helping defend the MVP in the post area. He bumped and banged used footwork played with effort.     He's a long rangy type of prospect, he continues to strengthen his body. He has good upside as a wing prospect, that can use his dribble to weave his way to the basket at times to finish using his length around the rim. He's shoots open 3's without much hesitation. He go inside to get a bucket on occasion. He's got the length to rebound, defend multiple positions.     A solid strong body, can absorb all the hits when going to the basket, hard and strong. At this event his ability to take and make shots was on display early, as he dropped numerous mid-range jumpers off the dribble from different spots. He hits spot up 3's, can be difficult to contain in transition going hard and fast but under control. He's a rebounding guard.     Listed as a point guard, he's productive putting points on the board in different ways. He's got the handles, takes care of the ball, sees the court, handles doubles. He has the moves, and ability to create space for jump shots using steps backs for 3's. He maneuvers his way around perimeter finding cracks to get into the paint for floaters, jumpers, and assists.
