2028 Rankings: Top-50 guards who moved the needle

The update to our 2028 rankings saw some significant movement within what's proving to be a deep class across the state. Keep reading for a look at some of the higher-level guards that elevated themselves with strong play this summer.    Salisbery was already highly regarded but solidified his standing within a very talented top-10 with a string of consistent standout performances across a variety of settings this summer. Among the most potent pure scorers in the state, he put together a pair of explosive performances in June at Philly Live that were both capped by game-winning buckets. On the AAU scene, he was the leading scorer on a competitive NJ Scholars team across the EYBL season and also put together a strong camp season while showcasing his explosive first step and dynamic shotmaking abilities. There remains a higher upside to tap into for Salisbery if he's able to continue to slow the game down and develop as a playmaker, but this summer was a big step in proving that his scoring ability is built to scale up in levels.     Blossoming quickly in real time, McKie is still developing his overall consistency but is putting some really intriguing pieces together as shown in a handful of explosive performances throughout the summer. A budding on-ball presence with a quickly developing frame, he grew into a key piece for [program_tooltip program_id='2078709' first='Team' last='Final']'s undefeated Peach Jam title team, saving his best for when it mattered most with a clutch final game and quarter to seal the championship. He takes on more of a playmaking role on the high school side while showing enticing flashes in pick-and-roll play. With bloodlines strongly in his favor, the upside is there for McKie to continue to rise as he gets more comfortable in his body moving forward.     Steals doesn't get the same acclaim as Sewickley's vaunted international frontcourt, but he consistently showed this summer that he's more than on par with his backcourt counterparts from the eastern half of the state. A dynamic lead guard with impressive strength and quickness, he took advantage of a big stage with a standout performance against Imhotep Charter at Philly Live. He carried that production over impressively onto the EYCL circuit with City Rocks Hope, striking a strong score-pass balance and playing consistently efficient basketball. Steals increasingly looks the part of a surefire D1 guard and could see his stock continue to rise with Sewickley taking on a more challenging schedule this winter.     After starting to generate a buzz throughout his sophomore year at Methacton, Leet showed throughout the entire summer that he's more than worthy of the hype with a slew of productive and efficient outings. He's proven himself as one of the highest-level prospects in District 1 and among the elite shooters in the state, exploding for a number of high-scoring performances in both AAU and scholastic settings. Leet's ability to torch the nets from long range as either a primary or secondary guard gives him a neatly translatable skillset as he moves up in levels. His growth as a lead guard over the coming years could open up an even higher upside but D1 programs should be keeping close tabs on him already.     Quietly one of the bigger winners of the summer, Farlow turned the corner from prospect to player in a real way, generating very strong early returns on his decision to move to Shipley for a repeat junior year. A rangy and feathery athlete, he'd previously played more of a 3-and-D role but emerged unexpectedly as an on-ball presence for the Gators. He showed levels of polish as a ballhandler and pullup shooter that give him a newfound upside to tap into with more on his plate offensively. Farlow was trending toward being a potential late-blooming scholarship target as a 2027, but the move to 2028 and change in scenery has him looking like he could make a push toward the D1 ranks.
