In a new location, Salisbery has continued to emerge as a sophomore as one of the more dynamic backcourt talents in the class. Playing for his dad, former pro and McCaskey legend Dustin Salisbery, in his first year as coach, the Conestoga Valley transfer has averaged over 24 points a game for a young Red Tornado team. He’s a gifted shot-creator, using his handle and twitchy athleticism to create space at each level of the floor with the requisite shotmaking touch to capitalize. Salisbery is continuing to grow into the lead guard position, with flashes as a playmaker for others but still work to be done on his shot selection and ball security. As one of the younger prospects in the class, he also looks to still be in the process of blossoming physically and athletically. He has the raw talent to rise even further in the rankings with continued refinement.

Following a productive freshman year at nearby Conestoga Valley, Salisbery heads to McCaskey to play for his dad (first year head coach and McCaskey legend Dustin Salisbery) and has hit the ground running in his first year as a Red Tornado. Fresh off a career-high 41-point performance in an overtime win over Hempfield, Salisbery has McCaskey sitting atop their division while averaging nearly 25 points per game. He shows a dynamic handle to touch the paint with ease and create shots for himself and teammates, with potent shotmaking chops and budding athleticism in the open floor. It’s been a promising season of growth as Salisbery trends toward potential high-major recruitment.

Salisbery a high octane scorer who likes to fill it up. He had four three pointers and had a game high 31 points. Salisbery scored the ball at all three levels. Salisbery likes to hoist up difficult shots and was able to convert on more than a few. He made a few trips to the foul line and went 7 from 9 from the charity stripe. Salisbery showed some flashes as a facilitator and got his teammates involved for scoring chances. He was in nice spots to get rebounds. He needs to become more protective of the basketball because he tends to turn it over more than a few times. He found ways to turn defense to offense. There were a few times in the game I thought he forced some shots and I felt like if he waited he may have scored an easier bucket.

Salisbury is one of the most talented sophomores in all of Pennsylvania. After an impressive freshman season at Conestoga Valley, the scoring guard is now enrolled at J.P. McCaskey, where he will play under his father, Dustin. Demere is excellent getting downhill and finishing at the basket. He also has a nice mid-range game paired with an improving 3-point shot. With the ability to score from all three levels, Salisbury will be a must watch as the new lead guard for McCaskey.

Among the more dynamic scoring guards across the state, Salisbery was in constant attack mode on Sunday and was rewarded with a selection to the camp’s Top 30 game. There may not have been a quicker first step in the gym, which paired with Salisbery’s creative handle and consistent aggressiveness to make him a load to handle for any defender looking to keep him from getting downhill. He finished with increasing explosiveness off his left foot and mixed in a few deep jumpers to keep things honest as well. We’ll look for him to work on slowing down at times in game situations to allow time for his reads to develop, but Salisbery’s potent three-level scoring package has a chance to earn attention up to the high-major level as he continues coming into his own physically and athletically.

One of the most decorated 2028 prospects in the state has jumped to a new squad and I am interested to see Salisbery gels with McCaskey’s deep and talented roster. Salisbery is an elite point guard who is a walking bucket too. In 2024-25 Salisbery averaged 15 ppg., posted seven games of 20 or more points and was a 1st Team All-Lancaster-Lebanon League selection. Salisbery is a highly accurate shooter. He can pop jumpers from the baseline, in the mid-range and from behind the 3-point line. Additionally, Salisbery can create off the dribble for himself and teammates. His ability to kiss difficult runners off the glass is impressive. Salisbery owns the speed and elusive handles to take the rock coast-to-coast for a lay-up or to drop a dime on a teammate filling the wing on the fast break.

One of the most decorated 2028 prospects in the state is one the move. Last season at Conestoga valley, Salisbery posted 15 points per game, knocked home 30 triples and was a 1st Team All-Lancaster-Lebanon League selection. Salisbery will now take his talents to McCaskey where this past spring, his father was named the new head coach. Salisbery exploded onto the recruiting scene in the opening week of his freshman year with three straight 25 points or more scoring performances. He went on to post four additional games of 20+ points and finished the 2024-25 season as Conestoga Valley’s leading scorer. Salisbery is a polished and poised floor general who can score at all three levels.

Salisbery was as prolific a freshman two-sport star as there was in the state last year, emerging as a standout wide receiver and point guard for Conestoga Valley while showcasing his precocious talent and competitive spirit. The son of McCaskey legend and former Temple star Dustin Salisbery, the younger Salisbery will now head to play for his dad who just recently accepted the head coaching position at his alma mater. He shows a potent ball-in-hand arsenal with the ability to create offense for himself or others at the drop of a dime, whether getting into the lane or creating his own shot on the perimeter. He shows aggressive instincts defensively with emerging athleticism in the open floor. Still just 14 years old, Salisbery has an upside that appears incredibly high as the game starts to slow down for him from the lead guard spot.

Salisbery exploded onto the recruiting scene in the opening week of his freshman year with three straight 25 points or more scoring performances. He went on to post four additional games of 20+ points and finished the 2024-25 season as Conestoga Valley’s leading scorer at 15 points per night. As freshman, Salisbery displayed a polished primary ball handler skill set and played with extreme poise. No matter how big the stage, Salisbery never allowed opponents to speed him. Salisbery scored at every level in the half and piloted the fast break for scores and assists. But this winter what really popped about Salisbury’s skill set was his ability to get teammates involved. Salisbery exceled at play making for teammates off the dribble. He delivered precise dimes in pick-n-roll as well as pick-n-pop actions. Salisbery was also on point with passes to back door cutters as well as kick outs to open shooters and slips passes to the dunker spot.

The son of former Temple star Dustin Salisbery is crushing opponents this month by averaging 23 points per night across his last four game. For a 2028 prospect Salisbery is an extraordinarily polished and poised floor general. He can produce points at every level, distribute and rebound. Salisbery’s transition skills are fantastic too. He excels at pushing the rock on the fast break for scores or assists. Salisbery will not hesitate to cap off a break with a slam. As a nice bonus to his offensive game, Salisbery is a plus defender with his active hands that generate steals.
