About Drew

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I won the toughness award from my coach reflecting an ability to what is necessary offensively and defensively for my team to win on a night to night basis. I can facilitate or lead scoring depending on the situation. I regularly am asked to watch the opponents best wing player.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a highly competitive player that gets along with teammates very well. I am a strong team player. I like to compete and play my best when challenged by the best.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play with Rize sports. I participated in Steel City Hoops exhibition of the best players in my class. I was named the Post Gazettes athlete of the week during a key stretch during my teams State Championship achievement.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I exhibit leadership, teamwork and community service on and off the court through my academic and non profit involvement.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had a concussion that took me out of play when I was in eighth grade. When I returned from injury I had to earn spot back as a starter against some good players. I was able to persevere and become the only point guard from that group which remains on the team.

What type of college are you looking for?

A division one program with a good academic reputation and a good basketball program.

Liked the way that Steals finds different ways to leave his mark on the game. Steals has a good blend of strength and quickness that he uses to pressure paint on the attack. Defenses cannot leave him open from three or he will make them pay. He has nice touch around the bucket. Steals also has no issues finding others with his ability to make plays for his teammates with his ability to pass the rock. He is an aggressive defender. He is tracking as a scholarship prospect and should see his stock rise.

Steals was in the right spots on the floor to convert scoring chances from an array of different spots. He is very quick on his feet and uses his athleticism when attacking. Steals can operate well on the attack and makes quick decisions with ball in his hands. He created separation for himself off the bounce.
