Steals doesn’t get the same acclaim as Sewickley’s vaunted international frontcourt, but he consistently showed this summer that he’s more than on par with his backcourt counterparts from the eastern half of the state. A dynamic lead guard with impressive strength and quickness, he took advantage of a big stage with a standout performance against Imhotep Charter at Philly Live. He carried that production over impressively onto the EYCL circuit with City Rocks Hope, striking a strong score-pass balance and playing consistently efficient basketball. Steals increasingly looks the part of a surefire D1 guard and could see his stock continue to rise with Sewickley taking on a more challenging schedule this winter.

Steals is one of my favorite two-way guards in the Keystone State. He doesn’t back down from the smoke and runs right into it, playing with a fearless mentality on both ends of the floor. Steals bullies his way to the basket and has no issues putting points on the board. He is also an active defender who applies magnetic ball pressure, creating turnovers that can lead to offensive opportunities for his team. Steals’ toughness, physicality, and two-way impact make him a prospect who should be prioritized by low-major programs.

15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists as averages over 9 games of EYCL play are all impressive from the Sewickley Academy guard. A solidly built 6’1 lead guard, Steals is just starting to tap into his potential.

Liked the way that Steals finds different ways to leave his mark on the game. Steals has a good blend of strength and quickness that he uses to pressure paint on the attack. Defenses cannot leave him open from three or he will make them pay. He has nice touch around the bucket. Steals also has no issues finding others with his ability to make plays for his teammates with his ability to pass the rock. He is an aggressive defender. He is tracking as a scholarship prospect and should see his stock rise.

Steals was in the right spots on the floor to convert scoring chances from an array of different spots. He is very quick on his feet and uses his athleticism when attacking. Steals can operate well on the attack and makes quick decisions with ball in his hands. He created separation for himself off the bounce.

Jet quick guard who finds ways to touch the paint and get by defenders with his quick first step. Applies ball pressure when picking up full court and which can lead to turnovers and points for his team. He added a small scoring dose.
