Moudouyi has some real tools, and they were on full display in the game I saw against Archbishop Wood. He can score from all areas of the floor and uses his size and strength to get to wherever he wants off the bounce. Moudouyi also scored off second-chance opportunities and showed that he can make an impact as an off-ball slasher. I like his ability to move his feet defensively and stay active on that end of the floor. I’m excited to track Moudouyi’s progress over the next few seasons.

There just aren’t many, if any, rising freshmen who can match the physical tools that Moudouyi possesses. At 6-foot-8 with the ability to handle in the open floor and great upper body strength, he is a walking one man fast break. In the halfcourt, he thrives as a modern four, using his quickness to score out of the high post or hitting jumpers from the foul line area. As refines his game, he will stay amongst the elite of the class.

Considered to be in the early conversation for the top overall prospect in the national class, Moudouyi projects to make major waves in the Steel City region having recently relocated from New Jersey to attend Sewickley for his freshman year. A prototypical modern forward, the Congolese product is an athletic specimen with a skillset to play anywhere on the floor from the rim out to the perimeter. He thrives in the open floor where his physical and athletic gifts can take over, but his underlying skillset is fairly well-rounded to go with a steady motor on both ends of the court. Moudouyi is still finetuning his game and may need some time adapting to the speed of higher-level high school hoops but his future appears destined for the highest levels of the game.

As the day progressed, David continued to elevate his level of play and emerged as one of the more intriguing prospects on Court 4. In the first game I watched, he made several impact plays with his athleticism and flashed the potential of being one of the top prospects in attendance. It was during the second game, however, that he truly put his full arsenal on display. Moudoyi showcased impressive versatility, scoring both inside and out while displaying comfort operating from multiple areas of the floor. He attacked defenders off the bounce, knocked down mid-range jumpers with confidence, and repeatedly used his athleticism to create explosive finishes at the rim.
