The September 13 Expo is a great opportunity for prospects looking to put themselves in front of more eyes and create some momentum heading into the season. There are several players across Colorado who have intriguing tools, have shown flashes, or simply we just want to see more of, and this is the perfect opportunity for them to do so. We have a couple of weeks to go before the showcase, so this is where they could make a statement.

Not that Kochera has to prove himself, but anytime a player from a smaller classification can come and show everyone just how big-time a prospect they are, I feel that they should take it. Tatum is one of the top players in the state, and not enough people know about that due to not many being able to see Simla play much and not a ton of him in the Summer. Our rankings even show that, and there's probably more to his game. He certainly put Simla on the map this year and won the POY in the small classification and had his flashes this Summer. But this is a no-brainer for us on who should be at the showcase. Come on out, Tatum, and prove us wrong!

Coleman should certainly head to the showcase, as he was gone for a bit but is now back, and the rest of the state probably needs a reminder. He did not play during the high school season, and the last time we saw him, he helped lead Eaglecrest to an improbable state championship. Now, the Chaparral team with him on it will be the favorites. This is an opportunity for him to come out and show who's one of the best on-ball defenders, if not the best on-ball defender in the state, but also show what he was able to do this Summer. That there's more to his game. He should get out to the showcase and show a complete game.

Alex is a bucket and one of the state's more well-rounded prospects, but is another player who doesn't get a chance to show it to everyone often. He's not on a team that we see or hear about weekly, and we didn't get to see a ton of him this Summer. But with the numbers that he's been able to put up over the years, I feel as if he should be a household name. He can shoot it, he makes plays for others and competes, and this is a great opportunity for him to do just that. He could come and put everyone on notice of the type of hidden gem that he is, with more film for coaches to see as well as against some of the state's best.

If there's one player in this class that I would push to get out to our Expo as well as just showcases in general, it would be Trey Hall. In his junior season, he had a coming-out party where he turned heads with his play, which was capped off with a deep playoff run, with him elevating his game. He's skilled, scores in bunches, rebounds well, and sees plays before they happen, but there are also some questions there of what it looks like against the higher classifications and if that speed and physicality would catch up to him. We also just don't get our eyes on him enough, and this would give him more looks on the type of player he is and could be. There's some intrigue from coaches who have reached out, but they wonder if it's just because of where he plays, and the systems, and a showcase goes against both of those. He's the type of player who could change a ton with a big day here.

Murdock is one of those players who has come out to the showcase before and really turned some heads and silenced a few doubters with his play. There were questions about how legitimate his game was and if he was just a product of Regis Groff's schedule. He got a bump in the rankings with how he played against some of the top players in his class. He then went on to have a successful season, put up monster numbers, and showed that he battles no matter who's in front of him. The time couldn't be better as there's plenty of momentum after what might have been his best summer. He looks ready to elevate his game even more. I see that Regis Groff is in the Grandview Fall League, which will help, and there are just benefits to him getting out and competing and showing time and time again that it doesn't matter who he's up against, that his game holds its own weight. I think he should get back out and take over at the showcase.

Titus has the stats and consistency over the years to be deemed as one of the top PG's in the state, but if you were to ask people about it who are not truly tapped in, he wouldn't be a name that just comes to the top of their minds, and that should be a problem for him that he wants to fix. The thing is, we haven't seen enough of Titus, and we certainly haven't seen enough of him in the free-flowing, go make a play and get out and compete kind of game that I truly believe that he would be best at. He's a high-IQ guard who pushes the pace. Gets teammates involved, scores when he has to, and makes plays defensively, and that stands out in a showcase for sure. This could be a great opportunity to measure himself against some of the top guards in the state in preparation of a highly anticipated season for him. I'd advise him to get out and show what he's made of.
