Two-Way 2027 Point Guards That Elevated Stock At Ridgewood Live

This past weekend, Ridgewood High School played host to an NCAA Live Event in Norridge Illinois. Teams across the state were in attendance to allow their talents be shown to college programs. In this article, we will breakdown some of the top two way point guards who showcased their games.    Udoiwod runs the primary handling responsibilities along with 2 other talented back court guards for Geneva. He is an aggressive slasher who thrives most when attacking to the basket in transition or off the bounce in the ½ court setting. His crafty footwork and handle allows him to navigate through traffic and consistently get to the cup. He also showed complimentary shot making ability from 3 and in the midrange game to provide more scoring stability. The activity level on the defensive end will also help create turnovers and provide an extra layer to his game. His competitiveness demeanor shows throughout and provides plus energy to the team.     Jones and the Flyers started out my weekend slate with the first of over 30 contests that I took in. There were plenty of good guards at Ridgewood but when we talk about superior specific point guards, Jones would be at the top of that list from the 60+ teams I saw. Offensively he went spin move off defender to get to cup, in and out dribble then hesitation for blow by, and continued to attack via baseline or from wing to penetrate gaps. Showed athletic ability at the rim for a couple of tough scores over bigger bodies as well. To say the least Jones is a tough out to stay in front of and will provide tons of value as a true floor facilitator during senior season.     Vongluekiat is an athletically fluid guard prospect that impacts on both ends with positive activity. He shows quick instincts on the defensive side on or off the ball to challenge. He will push in the break phase off of turnovers or defensive rebounds and displays solid court vision with timely assists. These were evident including drop offs underneath or in gaps to cutters. He plays through contact at the cup to draw fouls or finish for and1 opportunities. His combination of feel and selfless play contributes in a diverse set of ways beyond scoring.     Marshall is one of the top point guards in the class of 2027 in Illinois and he showed that this weekend through his impactful play. He has explosiveness and agility that he presents to both ends. He can agitate defensively by presenting a heavy on ball presence and quickly will speed up a game. Showcased bounce at the rim with a powerful 2-hand slam off two feet in transition and caught a lob from a teammate on the break as well. His ability to change speeds while getting down hill in the primary phase or ½ court setting separates him from others. The attacking mindset he has gives a constant source of momentum for team to thrive off of.     The West Aurora point created a lot of havoc in the back court in team's later morning Saturday contest. Brown impacts as a 2 way guard that will provide as much value on defense as on the offensive end. His wing span was intriguing to witness and was utilized in constantly disrupting the opposing ball handlers motion. He created steals, deflections, and ran down a 2 handed block from behind off the backboard. Offensively he provides 3 level scoring touch with a high rise on his jumper. Brown confidently gets into his mid range game off of his creative bounce. He also threw a really tough alley oop finish to his teammate from beyond the arc displaying complete court vision and awareness. A lead guard that will continue to gain more traction on the recruiting trail.     Fridman is a quick twitch difficult cover for opponents to stay in front of. His ability to change speeds on a dime and get shifty with the rock in his hands brings separation to the table. The lefty has a polished offensive arsenal that he can go to. His compact strong frame and tough demeanor allows him to fight through contact and get to his locations. He buries quick mid range jays or spot ups from beyond the arc with a smooth release. He has the court vision of a true floor general as well with making smart decision reads and remaining a connective passer in the ½ court setting. His blend of pace, vision, and shot making deems him an impact 2 way guard.
