Wintrust Sports Complex in Bedford Park, Illinois hosted the final day of the last Prep Hoops Circuit stop in Illinois for the 2026 season. I was in the gym all day on Sunday for the closing events' worth of games. There were plenty of border state teams that came to Illinois over the 3 day weekend. In this article, we will review a handful of players' games that skill wise stood out.

I caught the 6'2 Point Guard from [program_tooltip program_id='2517147' first='Wisconsin' last='[program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last='']'] 17U team in the mid morning game on Sunday. The Fort Atkinson floor general impressed in a variety of ways with a well rounded and balanced game. Defensively he helped generate turnovers while having a nose for the ball which led immediately to transition buckets. He also willfully gets on the floor for hustle plays and created havoc digging one pass away during penetration action. On the offensive end, Geiger finished through traffic on multiple straight line drives while using his plus length at the guard spot to his advantage. His finishing package included reverse layups, runners, and floaters over bigger bodies. As a playmaker with the ball in his hands, he showed poise on timely passes for drop-offs, finding cutters, and creating quality looks for teammates after collapsing defenses. Overall, Geiger impacts as a valued 2-way guard consistently fueling his team for opportunities with a high motor and selfless decision making.

A quick jet guard that can get downhill in a hurry. Clark brings relentless energy and competitiveness to consistently play bigger than his size while he uses his strength to advantage. He attacks the paint with steam and is able to finish over taller post players at the rim. His scoring package in the Sunday late morning contest included an and1, runner over size, cutting back door to retrieve and convert, and knocking down a short jumper off the backboard. He likes to crash the glass and for good reason as he possesses plus bounce while timing correctly on missed shots. Defensively Clark glues and comes away with multiple pick-pocket steals that help lead to transition buckets. His aggressive mentality of a tough competitor makes him a constant difference maker to provide winning plays.

Evans made statements early and often throughout [program_tooltip program_id='2517147' first='Wisconsin' last='[program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last='']']'s game on Sunday morning. The 6'8 post displayed a great set of hands and feet that are well equipped on foundational fundamentals within 15 feet. It's 2026 but I still enjoy bigs that bring some of that old school approach to the game and Evans fits the mold. He seals his man deep to gain positioning and endures physicality with balance and control. His screening game affected to open up guard play or found opportunities while diving to the rim. He keeps the ball high on rebounds and on the catch with a poised demeanor and doesn't get rattled when help comes. On the defensive side, he rim protected for multiple clean blocks and contested shots consistently. Overall Evans' size, positioning, and ability to be a reliable interior presence on both sides positively impacts.

I caught The Oakland County Rise Elite 17's play in their earlier morning game on Sunday. North fits the wing spot as a 2 or 3 man dependent upon the makeup on the floor. The 6'3 guard has a textbook frame and skill level to fill those same positions at the next level. In this contest he made an impact playing with pace while capitalizing off of transition opportunities. During the break phase he utilized his lengthier body to speed ahead of the defense for a powerful dunk in the open floor. In the ½ court setting, North also showed his ability to space away from defenders and knock down a couple of 3's in rhythm. His overall athleticism and willingness to make the right read deems him an effective two way prospect.

The 6'2 SG from Valparaiso put on a shooting clinic during Indiana Game's 17U contest on Sunday morning. The perimeter threat hit 6 3's at a really high clip to spark an almost complete come from behind rally. He knocked down multiple spot-up threes with confidence while showing a quick repeatable release on steady hands. Waters also got it done from mid range and displayed versatility while converting on a turnaround jumper and attacking a closeout with a pump fake and two dribble textbook pull-up. On the defensive side of things he impacted while remaining active in the passing lanes and tallying multiple steals. Overall, Waters plays strong with the ball in his hands while competing on both ends of the floor.
