Evans made statements early and often throughout Breakaway ‘]’s game on Sunday morning. The 6’8 post displayed a great set of hands and feet that are well equipped on foundational fundamentals within 15 feet. It’s 2026 but I still enjoy bigs that bring some of that old school approach to the game and Evans fits the mold. He seals his man deep to gain positioning and endures physicality with balance and control. His screening game affected to open up guard play or found opportunities while diving to the rim. He keeps the ball high on rebounds and on the catch with a poised demeanor and doesn’t get rattled when help comes. On the defensive side, he rim protected for multiple clean blocks and contested shots consistently. Overall Evans’ size, positioning, and ability to be a reliable interior presence on both sides positively impacts.

Evans continues to improve as he gets more reps with his high school team and AAU club. The six-foot-nine frontcourt player from Fort Atkinson, is mobile for someone his size and strength: sprinting to ball screens, defending quicker guards in space, and running the floor in transition. Evans does a great job of sealing defenders and mismatches on the block, where he converts at the rim shots at a high rate. Oliver is hearing mostly from WIAC schools, but is being monitored by D2 programs in the Midwest heading into July.

Oliver is one of the best screen-setters you’ll see play this spring. He takes full advantage of his big 6’9 frame to free up his guards out on the perimeter. He’s not afraid to set a hard screen, and from there he rolls hard to the basket making the most of every chance he gets diving to the rim. Throughout the weekend he showed good hands to catch in traffic, and the patience to gather his balance before going up to finish. His strength allows him to still power through contact when he gets defenders in the air with a shot fake.

took over to make it a game late. At 6’8 he’s a force to handle in the paint, and any time he touched the ball on the block he was looking to score. If he caught in isolation, there was no hesitation from Ollie to take a hard power dribble to pin his defender right under the rim, and then power up for two points. He was relentless on the offensive glass as well, converting on a number of second or third chance opportunities. You can tell he’s worked on his conditioning and mobility a bit since last spring/summer, while still maintaining that strength at 6’8 that makes him a low-post threat.

Evans’ size immediately stands out when you watch him play, but it doesn’t take long for other aspects of his game to shine through. A big post player who can score, rebound and protect the rim, Evans had 14 points and 11 rebounds to help Wisconsin Breakaway to a 73-70 win over The New Threat — Beinborn squad. His hustle, determination and ability to play through mistakes is impressive. Evans is a player who could attract attention from scholarship schools this spring/summer.

Oliver looks a bit more agile than I remembered him from last spring/summer. Even with that added agility, he still kept his strength on the block, and was aggressive looking to score when isolated on the post. He can beat you with power, but also has the footwork to find angles to score against similar sized players. Soft touch with either hand allows him to finish his chances with efficiency. Even in a fast paced game where teams were shooting early and often, Oliver’s added quickness helped him keep up with the pace of play.

He is developing his game offensively but is coming along nicely. Oliver is tough in “zoom action” and he shoots it well from 15-feet. He is also an excellent defender. Evan is a legit rim protector, he averages 3.5 blocks per game on the PH Circuit.

The more you watch Evans, the more you like him. First off, he’s a massive young player at 6-foot-8 and possessing a strong build. He gives great effort on every possession on both ends of the court. And he is beginning to be a go-to option in the paint for Wisconsin Breakaway thanks to his size and ability to score off the glass. He still fumbles the ball a bit, but he’s improving in that area as well. Defensively, Evans is a shot blocker and solid rebounder. He figures to be one of the premier frontline players in the Badger Small Conference for Fort Atkinson in 2025-26, and he’s improving by the weekend for a very good Wisconsin Breakaway 16U outfit.
