A certified bucket getter from beyond the 3 point line. Kuepper settled in with a hot hand from the git go in the team’s mid morning game on Sunday and helped Breakaway
‘] get off to a healthy margin lead. I tallied him for 4 3’s in the first half alone while he hit another in the second to tally 5 total in the contest. His quick and confident release was utilized coming off screens or effectively screening then spacing away for more room. Kuepper shows a strong understanding of taking advantage of what the defense gives with high IQ and feel for the game. His overall decision making skills are solid and he will draw attention as a continuous perimeter threat.
Kuepper had it going from deep and from the mid range for Wisconsin Breakaway
in its 70-58 win over Foundation Athletics
South. Kuepper finished the game with 21 points and buried three triples with each of the long-range bombs helping to stem a rally by Foundation Athletics
. His quick release and shot-making ability were huge for Wisconsin Breakaway
. So, too, are his toughness and physicality while playing on defense.
Kuepper displayed his limitless range in the Beaver Dam Fieldhouse on Saturday. Alex had five threes on eight attempts and propelled the Orioles’ offense in the second half, finishing the game with 26 points. Kuepper in addition to his shooting, scored well off of mid range pullups and attacking downhill. The 5’11 junior hit some very difficult runners over some lengthy defenders. Kuepper has great vision in Coach Chris Smith’s dribble drive system and can dish the ball well to his teammates on kick outs and dump offs. Alex is averaging nearly 13 points a game and close to 40% from 3. He is one of the many scoring weapons for Hartford, who could make a deep run this postseason.
A skilled backcourt prospect who handles the ball with ease, finds open teammates with his passing skill, and can make shots from outside the arc, Kuepper is a key part of an excellent guard rotation for Wisconsin Breakaway
. He is patient on offense and waits for the defense to breakdown before attempting a shot. He can also guard with his lateral quickness and quick hands. Like Geiger, Kuepper earned all-league honors as just a sophomore in a very respected conference, the North Shore. The third-team all-conference honoree led Hartford in scoring at 14.5 points per game and made 67-of-172 tries from three-point range for 39 percent.
