I caught The Oakland County Rise Elite 17’s play in their earlier morning game on Sunday. North fits the wing spot as a 2 or 3 man dependent upon the makeup on the floor. The 6’3 guard has a textbook frame and skill level to fill those same positions at the next level. In this contest he made an impact playing with pace while capitalizing off of transition opportunities. During the break phase he utilized his lengthier body to speed ahead of the defense for a powerful dunk in the open floor. In the ½ court setting, North also showed his ability to space away from defenders and knock down a couple of 3’s in rhythm. His overall athleticism and willingness to make the right read deems him an effective two way prospect.

Eugene North Jr. Eugene North Jr. MI was another combo wing who stood out for Rise Elite. He brought physical tools and gave his team another frontcourt option. North has the size and presence to impact possessions, especially when he is active defensively and on the boards.

North showcased the patience and athleticism to stop on a dime, shake off his defender, and knock down the lost-art mid-range shot.

I’m excited to see North play. He’s a talented athlete that I really look forward to evaluating this weekend. North is a bouncy player that can create and get buckets at all 3 levels. He has a nice hesitation m
