Maple Grove graduated a few key players from last season, but Ben looks ready to step up for some of that lost production. The 6'4 guard helped lead his team to a comeback win against Midwest Mayhem, hitting some key shots down the stretch. Ben mixed in some pull-up jumpers with a few physical takes to the basket, including a strong finish that put his team ahead by one point with just seconds to play in overtime. Ben has shown a nice mid-range game over the past few years, but you can tell he's been working on adding strength that has made him a bigger threat attacking the basket.

Waterford graduated a good chunk of its rotation from last year's team. Lojeski is the top returning scorer, and he looks ready for a breakout season. Fresh off of a 21 ppg showing at June Jam, Matthew had a big game with Midwest Mayhem against Uncheckable Elite. At 6'3-6'4 he's very fluid off the dribble and was finding ways to get separation for mid-range jumpers or floaters. Soft touch on his shot allows him to score at all three levels. Even just in the few months since the AAU season started, there are noticeable improvements in Matthew's game.

Facing off against a tough [program_tooltip program_id='2076003' first='West' last='Central United'] team on Saturday morning, Patrick was lights out from beyond the arc. Any time the lefty guard caught in space he was letting it fly, more often than not putting three points on the board. When he wasn't putting points on the board, Patrick did a great job of seeing the floor and either feeding his bigs on the block or locating his cutters with well timed passes. He racked up a handful of assists throughout the game, showing he has the skillset to play either guard spot.

Alexandre was one of the best shooters I saw all day on Saturday. He was a threat to let it fly from just about anywhere in the half-court, and has a combination of shiftiness on the ball and a quick release on his shot that makes him so unpredictable. Guys were chasing him all over the arc, and it all took was a quick shot-fake for Alexandre to open up space to get off his shot. His team came up short against SW MN Stars, but it was still an impressive showing from the 2028 guard.

Henry was the smallest player on the floor against [program_tooltip program_id='2076031' first='Wisconsin' last='Hoops Select'], but you'd have a hard time finding someone who made a bigger impact. Henry seemed to be in multiple places at once on the defensive end as he was constantly cutting off drives, getting deflections, or jumping passes for steals. Offensively he could get to any spot he wanted to off the dribble, and always had his eyes scanning the floor looking for an open teammate. Any time a help-side defender had to step up on him, Henry quickly located the open man. He racked up assist after assist to help lead his team to a win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956268' first='Shay' last='Jackson'] just keeps getting better this spring/summer. Against a North Dakota Phenom team that featured some of the top 2027's in North Dakota, Shay was coming up with plays to help lead his Select team to a comfortable win. The opposing defense just didn't have anyone that could handle the quickness of Shay on the ball, and he was able to get to his spots for a couple of pull-up jumpers throughout the game. Shay is extremely dangerous out in the open floor because he's constantly scanning, and times his passes perfectly to find a teammate slashing to the rim. Defensively he showed that on-ball pressure that tends to force a handful of turnovers just about every time he steps on the floor.
