Waterford graduated a good chunk of its rotation from last year’s team. Lojeski is the top returning scorer, and he looks ready for a breakout season. Fresh off of a 21 ppg showing at June Jam, Matthew had a big game with Midwest Mayhem against Uncheckable Elite. At 6’3-6’4 he’s very fluid off the dribble and was finding ways to get separation for mid-range jumpers or floaters. Soft touch on his shot allows him to score at all three levels. Even just in the few months since the AAU season started, there are noticeable improvements in Matthew’s game.

Waterford graduated a ton of important seniors last season, but Lojeski shows some promise to step in and shoulder the scoring load for the Wolverines. The six-foot-three prospect poured in 21 points vs. Xavier, 22 vs. Monroe, 21 vs. Reedsburg, and 22 vs. Golda Meir scoring at all three levels. Matthew is able to hit contested threes, set up his temmates, and overall can initiate offense for Waterford. On the other side of the ball, Lojeski is tasked with guarding the other team’s best player. Matthew competes with a strong independent program, Midwest Mayhem and will be a player to watch as he heads into his junior year at Waterford.

Lojeski showed clear three-level scoring ability. He knocked down catch-and-shoot threes, got to his spots for dribble pull-up jumpers, and ran the floor hard for easy finishes at the rim. His ability to score in different ways made him a consistent offensive threat.

He did not look like a player who needed everything drawn up for him. Lojeski found his offense naturally, stayed aggressive, and gave his team reliable production throughout the game.

Matthew could be next up for a Waterford program that has produced a number of talented guards over the past few years. Physically he fits the mold as he has a long and lanky 6’3 frame, and on Sunday he put his three level scoring ability on display. He hit some catch and shoot threes, showed he can get to his spots off one/two dribbles for a mid-range pull-up, and he also ran the floor for some easy finishes at the rim. Consistent offensive threat for this Midwest Mayhem 16u team.

The son of former Racine St. Catherine’s standout Matt Lojeski, Matthew Lojecski is a rising standout in the 2028 class. His size and skill are impressive as he can knock down three-point jump shots with the best of them in the sophomore class. His quick release keeps defenders off balance as does his ability to go strong to the basket with his left hand. Lojeski had a very strong season for the Midwest Mayhem Hoops 15U squad that finished 32-12 on the season.

Matthew is a sharpshooter who can light it up from beyond the arc. He stands at 6’1 with a long and lanky frame that he doesn’t look finished growing into yet. Running with Midwest Mayhem Hoops , he was torching defenders from deep when given space, but showed he can put it out on the floor and finish with touch over the top of defenders as well. Does a really nice job of playing at his own pace, and using shot-fakes to beat defenders from the perimeter. Takes what the defense gives him, and it helps him produce with efficiency.

Consistently finished in the lane with floaters over taller height while looking smooth doing so. Handled it effectively against pressure the distance of the court. Ready for catch and shoot 3’s which were executed at high percentage. Used defensive awareness to his advantage while being active off the ball.

Waterford has had some talented guards come through the program in recent years, and Lojeski could be the next one to keep an eye on over the next few years.
