This kid has had a phenomenal spring and is coming off an NHR weekend where he shot it smoking hot from 3-point land. Pat is a high-energy athlete who impacts winning. He is shifty and fast with the ball in his hands. Shanahan gets to the rim when he wants and shoots a high percentage. This Magician is full of intrigue.

Patrick had his ND Phenom in it until the very end against a loaded Pack team in 16u play. I really like the competitive fire he showed, bringing that extra level of intensity to the floor for his team. Shanahan hit a number of big shots in the second half that kept his team in the game, and was getting fired up with each make. Competes with a lot of toughness on the defensive end, fighting to get over screens and pressuring the ball hard out on the perimeter. Easy to see why he’s regarded as one of the top 2028 guards in North Dakota.

Patrick put together a strong season, averaging 13.0 points per game on an efficient 52% shooting, along with 3.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists. He also posted a 15 efficiency rating per game and knocked down 18 threes at a 35% clip. An athletic, mobile left-hander, Patrick stands out with his speed and quickness—especially his explosive first step. He’s an elusive slasher who can break down defenders and finish at the rim, even through contact. At 6’2″ with eye-catching agility, there’s a lot to like about his long-term potential. We saw noticeable improvement in his game throughout the winter, and PHD expects that momentum to carry into the club season.
