PH National Open Championship | Logan’s Friday Standouts Pt. 2

The Prep Hoops National Open Championship tipped off at the Pacers Athletic Center in Westfield, Indiana. Teams have traveled from all across the country to face quality competition to try and win a championship. Here is Part Two of Logan's Night Standouts from the Prep Hoops National Open Championship:    A player I became extremely high on after watching him excel with his high school team in June has kept it rolling in July for WeDifferent 812 16u. [player_tooltip player_id='3177210' first='Khamarian' last='Johnson'] was excellent on both ends of the floor in his team's loss on Friday night. Lightning quick guard that was able to get to his spot on the floor and finish at a high level. Excellent rebounder from the guard spot that pushed the tempo in transition off misses. Continues to develop into more of a point guard on the floor and did a good job creating looks for teammates, but thrives when he's aggressive looking for his own shot.     Shifty smaller guard that was able to get going late in the gate and OT on Friday night in his team's loss. Lightning quick first step with a strong build that allows him to take contact and stay on balance and finish drives. True Point Guard that did a good job all game balancing scoring and facilitating. Thrives on getting downhill where he can be crafty with the ball, but also showed the ability to hit the outside shot off the catch and able to create space off the dribble and knock it down.     From the opening tip off in his team's Friday night win, [player_tooltip player_id='2844517' first='Galen' last='Kamp'] was impactful using his length, size, and skillset. Strong Guard/Wing that made his presence felt on both ends of the floor. Active defender that was able to guard multiple positions. Rebounds well from the guard spot with the ability to push in transition. A bit of an unorthodox game on the offensive end with the ball in his hands. Herky jerky on drives, but figured out ways to get to his spots. Made the right play when the defense rotated, he found open teammates and took his open opportunities. Excellent cutter off the ball that allowed him a few easy buckets in the half court just off his movement. Just a fundamentally sound player that won't wow you with his athleticism, but was steady all game.     Long and lanky scorer that showed his versatility on the offensive end in the parts of his team's win on Friday night. Smooth Wing that can score it from all three levels. Really good off the bounce. Tight handle with a big first step that allows him to get past his defender and get all the way to the basket where he can use his length to finish in a variety of different ways with either hand. Comfortable shooting off the catch or off the dribble. Able to post up mismatches in the mid-post and face up. Clean middle game with a soft touch.     One of the top scoring performances of the Night, [player_tooltip player_id='2442377' first='Zander' last='Whitaker'] of Jimtown and [program_tooltip program_id='3587267' first='Indiana' last='Impact'] 16u was getting buckets on top of buckets finishing with 32 points in his team's win. Was able to get out in transition where he was the beneficiary. The 6'2” Guard/Wing lived at the free throw line where he was able to convert at a high clip. High motor that plays the game the right way and makes winning plays on both ends of the floor.
