GRBA Nationals – Ramsey’s Saturday Top Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Boots were on the ground once again at the Turnstone Plassman Activities Center in Fort Wayne on Saturday for the annual GRBA Nationals. We watched several rounds of games from the opening tip-off at 8:30 a.m. into the middle of the afternoon. He does a great job of maintaining spacing while his teammates drive to the basket is always active relocating to the open spots around the rim. Armstead finished with a team-leading 14 points as [program_tooltip program_id='2228160' first='OPS' last=''] Select 17u defeated Progeny Blue 17u on Saturday morning. Bluiett, despite playing up a year, was the most physical player on the floor throughout the game and simply dominated the offensive glass. He went on to score a team-leading 16 points in a hard-fought loss on Saturday morning. He poured in several more triples in Saturday morning's blowout win for [program_tooltip program_id='2076923' first='Club1' last=''] Prime 15u on his way to a team-leading 18 points. Whether it is on the grassroots circuit with [program_tooltip program_id='2228160' first='OPS' last=''] Select 17u, at the Top 100 Showcase, or with Jay County High School in June, this 6'3" guard continues to stand out. Comer is an athletic guard that can shoot it from the perimeter, but also has some really intriguing playmaking ability off of the bounce. His passing ability is what continues to catch our eye and that was the case on Saturday for sure. Countryman scored it around the basket with both hands and stretched the floor out to three-point range. He is comfortable as a left-hand, right-shoulder interior finisher, but has a much wider skill set as well that is highly intriguing given his size. The 6'8" forward is so comfortable out on the perimeter and has a very smooth, repeatable shooting stroke out to three-point range. However, he also has the necessary size to finish inside and doesn't shy away from contact. After performing well on Friday night he backed it up with an even better game on Saturday finishing with a game-high 18 points in a blowout victory for LVL Up (P32) 16u. Middleton is a versatile offensive weapon that can stretch the floor out to three-point range as a catch-and-shoot threat, but also possesses the requisite size, athleticism, and skill to attack closeouts consistently and shine in transition. Waltke poured in an incredible 35 points to go along with 5 rebounds in an impressive win for [program_tooltip program_id='2383637' first='Summit' last='City Elite'] - Schultz 17u.
