The Prep Hoops Circuit made its final Illinois stop of the season this past weekend as The Platform. It brought together programs from across the Midwest at multiple Chicagoland venues. I spent all three days in Bedford Park at the Wintrust Sports Complex evaluating talent across the 15U, 16U, and 17U divisions. In Part 2 of this two-part series, we take a closer look at more combo guards who made significant impacts for their teams throughout the weekend.

Gonzalez brings energy and fluid athleticism to both ends of the floor while play hard. He consistently impacting the game with positive activity around the basket with rebounding, putbacks, or drawing contact attacking the basket. On the defensive end he secured multiple rebounds keeping the ball high and using his vertical to his advantage. In the open floor, Gonzales also made smart pitch ahead passes to teammates for easy break point opportunities. His motor and instincts proves to provide valuable contributions throughout.

A certified bucket getter from beyond the 3 point line. Kuepper settled in with a hot hand from the git go in the team's mid morning game on Sunday and helped [program_tooltip program_id='2517147' first='Wisconsin' last='[program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last='']'] get off to a healthy margin lead. I tallied him for 4 3's in the first half alone while he hit another in the second to tally 5 total in the contest. His quick and confident release was utilized coming off screens or effectively screening then spacing away for more room. Kuepper shows a strong understanding of taking advantage of what the defense gives with high IQ and feel for the game. His overall decision making skills are solid and he will draw attention as a continuous perimeter threat.

An intriguing lengthy wing prospect with matured height for age. Showcased a smooth offensive package during teams late Saturday morning contest in team's wide margin victory that he help orchestrate. Has a mid range game that he can get into off of jab steps, heistations, or pump fakes. Hit a 15 footer and then another 12 footer that looked pretty effortless with his plus wingspan. Utilized his poised handle to weave through defenders on dribble drive action to finish consistently while attacking. Williams will consume contact and get to the stripe consistently. A versatile incoming sophomore guard from Freeport that will make an impact over next 3 years.

Losey was one of two back court guards from the Michigan Jawhawks 16U team that caught my attention during Saturday's festivities. The 6'0 guard from Columbia Central showed a well rounded offensive package that included 3 level scoring abilities. After a quieter first half during the team's mid afternoon game, the second half was a different story as he went on a scoring tear. Curled off screens for mid range jumpers, confident in catch and shoot opportunities from 3's, created his own shot going into 8 – 15 footers off the bounce, and continued to attack the basket finishing off the dribble or drawing fouls. Losey also will rebound from the guard spot and converted on multiple second chance opportunities while also securing strong defensive rebounds and then pushing for break points. A productive 2-way guard that will bring toughness and competitiveness to the floor.

Kay takes responsibilities as another back court guard for [program_tooltip program_id='2075957' first='The' last='Work Foundation']'s 15U team. He has a disciplined and controlled handle that helps create quality offense. In the middle morning game on Saturday, Kay attacked off of dribble drive action for multiple scores while finding gaps to get through. His finishing package includes runners or floaters while having a soft touch over bigger bodies. Getting the ball off of outlets he showcased ability to quickly transition the ball up the floor for a couple of coast to coast layups going full speed. His fast style of play along with another talented guard on the team helps them consistently put pressure on defenses.

A team glue guy for Illinois Attacks' 16U squad. Carter provides consistent energy and effort in multiple phases of the game. He may not lead the box score in points scored but he will provide a lot of effort plays especially on the defensive end that will have an impact. His nose to guard and get into the passing lanes had a major effect in the team's early morning win on Saturday. His anticipation and activity level certainly brings positive contributions to help the team compete and make winning plays.
