Gonzalez brings energy and fluid athleticism to both ends of the floor while play hard. He consistently impacting the game with positive activity around the basket with rebounding, putbacks, or drawing contact attacking the basket. On the defensive end he secured multiple rebounds keeping the ball high and using his vertical to his advantage. In the open floor, Gonzales also made smart pitch ahead passes to teammates for easy break point opportunities. His motor and instincts proves to provide valuable contributions throughout.

Playing up an age level, Gonzalez looked comfortable against older competition. A glue guy who embraced the fundamentals, he played his role well and scored effectively inside, showcasing foot and body control. He consistently boxed out, rebounded, and brought a high motor, while anticipating passes and covering plenty of ground defensively. Gonzalez was a key piece in Pure Hoops 16U’s undefeated weekend.

On offense, he can hit jumpers, get to the line, and he’ll drive to the hoop when there’s enough of a window. On defense, Gonzalez uses his athleticism and anticipation skills to keep his man in front of him. Plus he had a block. Overall, I like his game and he’s a team player.

Caught during team’s first game of the weekend on Friday and played with toughness while aggressively attacking the paint. Showcased a strong euro-step finish in traffic and continued to score as a slasher around the rim. Makes solid reads and cuts off the ball to keep defense moving. Brings a hard nosed defensive mentality while competing physically at that end of the floor. Led game high with 16 and helped team to 3-1 on the weekend.
