EYBL Vegas: 16u Guards Who Impressed

LAS VEGAS — EYBL made its lone west coast stop last weekend at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Nike-based circuit had its teams inside a 20-court facility as some programs sharpened up for Peach Jam and others battled it out to earn a spot in the summer's most prestigious club/travel event. Below are the top 16u guards we were able to get eyes on.    When it comes to a combination of physical tools and three-level scoring ability, Ford was among the best we saw at the 16u level. The sturdily-built 6-foot-2 point guard uses his combination of speed and strength to get to his spots in transition and half-court offense where he absorbed and finished through contact in the paint and/or drew that contact and got to the free throw line. Ford is also a consistent mid-range and three-point shooter. He averaged 25.6 points per game during Session IV and shot double-digit free throws in three of his five games.     Crawford is one of the most polished scoring guards in the 2029 class and his shot-creating and shot-making abilities run true to his basketball playing bloodlines. The long, wiry 6-foot-5 combo guard is a fluid isolation creator who can elevate into a smooth pull-up jumper from mid and three-point levels of the floor. Crawford had his passing and playmaking abilities on display during Session IV. He only played in one game on the weekend but dropped an impressive 20 points, including four threes, and dished out four assists.     Sati-Grier is the top 2028 point guard prospect in California and he continued to double-down on that with an elite display of PG play in Vegas. The 6-foot rising junior is a dynamic playmaker and scorer in transition with his blend of speed, control, vision and ability to process the game multiple steps ahead of the opponent. Sati-Grier posted averages of 15.8 points, 8.2 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.     Lindsay's game is predicated on his explosive athleticism and ability to close on the rim with his downhill speed and his ability to get off the floor quickly allowed him to elevate for above-the-rim transition finishes. Lindsay has isolation breakdown feel and is a highly aggressive and efficient paint finisher.     Gunter was one of the most polished two-way guards we watched among 16u competition. The 6-foot-3 rising junior has the ball skills, quickness and passing IQ to operate as an on-ball signal caller and scorer and his shooting ability translates to playing off the ball. Gunter's defensive presence was that of a physical, perimeter defensive stopper who consistently guarded all the perimeter positions. He put up impressive numbers with 23.8 points, five rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game.
