2027 Summer Rankings Update

The summer live periods have come and gone, which makes it a great time to update the rankings in New England.   Today, we'll start with an update to the rankings for the <a href="https://prephoops.com/new-england/rankings/2027-rankings/">Class of 2027</a>!   It's been an interesting 12 months for this class, with prospects reclassing up, reclassing down, leaving the region, and entering the region - many of which come to New England as post-graduates.   Lets start with a look at how the Top 5 looks coming out of the summer:   There's a new #1 in this class - Masters Academy International's [player_tooltip player_id='2470964' first='Antonio' last='Pemberton']! Fresh off a terrific run at the Adidas 3SSB championships, Pemberton has put himself in the conversation for five-star status. He's one of the nation's top shot creators, seemingly always rises to the moment, and is as competitive as they get in this class. In the last week alone, he's picked up offers from UCLA, Kansas, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Washington, Ohio State, and Michigan.   [player_tooltip player_id='2195047' first='Patrick' last='Otey'], out of the St. Thomas More School, checks in at #2. The 6'5" guard showed out early in the summer, impressing on Nike's EYBL circuit and also at the Pangos All-American Camp. He's a gifted three-level scorer that can play on or off the ball, has potential defensively, and consistently impacts winning on both ends of the floor.   Brewster Academy's [player_tooltip player_id='1682357' first='Markus' last='Kerr'] holds down the #3 spot. One of the top two-way wings in the country, Kerr is a 6'7" athlete that has really done a nice job of rounding out his offensive game over the last 12 months. He's an above the rim playmaker, can guard up and down a lineup, and does a nice job of making plays with the ball in his hands in transition. Florida State, Tennessee, and Xavier are the three most recent programs to extend offers to Kerr.   At #4 is [player_tooltip player_id='2407057' first='Declan' last='Griffiths'], who will play for the St. Thomas More School this season. One of the top performers on the Under Armour Association, the 6'7" wing earned an invite to the NBPA Top 100 Camp and has established himself as one of the top perimeter shooters in the country. He's a plus athlete, is making plays more consistently off the bounce, and has some defensive versatility too. Recent offers for Griffiths have come in from Colorado State, High Point, Ole Miss, Butler, and St. Bonaventure.   Rounding out the Top 5, at #5, is another St. Thomas More School product, [player_tooltip player_id='2341434' first='DJ' last='Hawkins']. The 6'7" wing has turned heads this summer, particularly while running with BABC and has really started to turn his potential into production. He has next level tools on the defensive end of the floor, consistently knocks down shots from behind the arc, and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands offensively. He's started to garner attention nationally and could crack the next national rankings update.   In all, 255 prospects have been ranked in this update, with an additional 236 appearing on the Watch List. Positionally, these rankings feature 47 Point Guards, 54 Combo Guards, 35 Shooting Guards, 55 Small Forwards, 42 Power Forwards, and 22 Centers.   All six New England states are represented in these rankings, with prospects coming from the NEPSAC, the Power 5, the Nike EYBL Scholastic League, and each of the six state associations.
