USE CODE “baxley30” FOR 30% OFF THE FIRST PURCHASE OF ANY SUBSCRIPTION

The University of South Carolina Team Camp always provides an opportunity for prospects to elevate their stock, and this year's event was no different. While many established names performed as expected, several players used the weekend to put themselves firmly on the radar with strong, consistent showings against quality competition. Whether it was a breakout performance, noticeable offseason development, or simply proving they belonged, these prospects emerged as some of the biggest winners from USC Team Camp.

[player_tooltip player_id='3597233' first='Aaron' last='Mitchell'] was one of the most intriguing prospects that I saw between the two days in Columbia. I've seen him before with Georgetown and [program_tooltip program_id='2412982' first='Upward' last='Stars Pee Dee'], but this was the most I've ever seen him with the ball in his hands. Although he is probably still a combo guard at the next level, it was good to see what Mitchell is able to do when running the offense. His length was another thing that caught my eye, allowing him to disrupt things defensively and shoot over contests on offense. Aaron finished with 13 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in the win.

Another 2027 guard who emerged at the USC Team Camp is Thompson. He stood out to me in Friday's opening game in Colonial Life Arena, a place where the Cobras will have aspirations of playing in March. Landon's shooting and secondary playmaking will be an important factor in those hopes. When playing off the ball, his ability to catch-and-shoot must be respected, which will open space for him to drive closeouts and create off the bounce. Thompson knocked down 3 threes in a win over Dutch Fork, but he also chipped in with a pair of assists.

I wasn't familiar with Williams prior to Saturday, but his performance left me wanting to know more about him and keep up with him for the rest of the summer. He went for 23 points in a matchup with Nation Ford, scoring in multiple ways to provide a spark for his team. Williams knocked down 3 threes, including two in the second half that looked very smooth from the corners. He also displayed his length with some creative finishes at the rim, and even forced a couple of turnovers, which turned into transition scores.

RJ has been emerging all summer long with [program_tooltip program_id='2078724' first='Carolina' last='Pressure'], so he was one I definitely wanted to get eyes on in a high school jersey. Whetstone is a true two-way player - a guy who takes just as much pride on the defensive end of the floor as he does on the offensive end. And, as the Point Guard, he has just as much responsibility to lead by example as he does vocally. He's still fine-tuning his skillset, but his passing, spot-up shooting, and strength through contact are some of the early things that have been impactful.

This 2029 big man only averaged 7.5 minutes per game in 2025-26, but if this weekend is any indication, he is going to be in for a huge uptick in time and production in his sophomore season. Hamilton isn't overly big or athletic, but he does have tremendous feet, a soft touch at the rim, and works hard when he's on the floor. Hayes is also a varsity football player for the Eagles, so he's certainly an athlete to watch for over the next three years.

[player_tooltip player_id='3569598' first='Jack' last='Ganley'] rounds out my list of prospects who emerged at the USC Team Camp. It's no secret that the Warriors have a ton of young talent, but Ganley could be an underrated name to watch out for as they search to win now. He was a strong piece for them off the bench Friday, bringing a burst of energy with his downhill driving and ability to score through contact. Jack had multiple and-ones in the matchup against Dreher, but he also had a few finishes around contact instead of through it, as he tallied 10 points.
