The 6-foot-4 rising junior is very skilled offensively and showcased an impressive three-level scoring arsenal this past weekend. The Beaver product has a beautiful shot from three, and he understands how to use pin downs and other off-ball actions to get open space to launch, and then he has a quick enough release to get his shot off with a slight contest. When defenses overplay him, he's able to drive closeouts and is a better athlete at the rim than opponents think—when combined with his touch at the hoop, he's an excellent finisher. Bernstein is going to score tons of points for Beaver this season and is going to get loads of open catch-and-shoot threes because of his squad's exceptional spacing and ball movement. Big season incoming.

Every time I looked over at Holderness this past weekend, Cruz was scoring the basketball. The 6-foot guard is a phenomenal ball handler and uses his shiftiness and change of direction to get by his defender. Once he touches the paint, the lefty does an amazing job getting to two feet and then using his pivot foot along with his craft to find his way to layups. He has a knack—similar to another undersized lefty who just happened to win an NBA championship—for feeling the defender on his hip and finding a way to finish through contact at weird angles, and his touch around the hoop is special. Cruz is ridiculously skilled and will lead the charge for a good Holderness squad that's looking to repeat as champions despite losing some key pieces.

There might be no more confident shooter in the entire NEPSAC than [player_tooltip player_id='2470961' first='Hunter' last='Peabody']. The 6-foot-3 guard has range out to near half court and a super quick trigger, so he's able to get his shot off consistently despite his lack of size. Even if the rising senior misses his first couple shots, he takes the next few with confidence and still thinks he's going to make them—and he probably is. He must've shot 50% on the weekend on EXTREMELY high volume and didn't change his facial expression regardless of whether the ball was going in or not. Once defenses overplay Peabody's three-point shot, the Phillips Andover guard does a good job attacking closeouts and either hitting his floater/pull up or kicking out to shooters/cutters. High D3 schools should be all over him.

In a Saturday matchup against Newman, Davis carried his Bridgton squad and welcomed himself to the NEPSAC as a result. The 6-foot-1 guard has a quick trigger from three and is able to get his shot off if defenders go under screens, or even if they trail him on his hip. He gets elevation on his shots, and he's able to shoot with very little balance, which makes him a threat at all times. Additionally, he has incredible quickness and a tight handle, so he's comfortable handling pressure and attacking against tough on-ball defenders. Davis is a true point guard but can also erupt as a shooter and scorer, which he should do many times for Bridgton this season. Seems like he rises to the moment too.

Robinson has dominated the NEPSAC showcases. The 6-foot guard is built like a pro RB and uses his strength and explosiveness to get to the rim and then elevate for finishes with both hands. He takes contact so well and is a great athlete. What has shocked me, though, are the improvements he has made to his three-point shot, which looks significantly more consistent than it did in the past. He's shooting the ball effectively while coming off screens and shooting off the dribble, but he's also lethal as a driver and pull up shooter, so he's a threat from all three levels. Robinson will be Frederick Gunn's starting PG this season and should score TONS of points for them—I wonder if he'll dominate enough to earn himself some scholarship looks at his size.

Parris is a natural scorer. The 6-foot-5 rising junior has a beautiful shot from three, which he can shoot off the dribble or off the catch and with deep range. But the skinny guard also does an awesome job using his off hand on drives to the rim and finishing through contact despite his slight frame. He has good footwork, finesse, and touch around the hoop. Parris is a solid passer, too, once the defense recognizes his scoring ability and starts collapsing on him in the paint. I don't see how the South Kent 2028 doesn't receive a scholarship once the time comes—extremely bright future ahead for him and he should be a major impact player for them this season.

Edwards is going to light the NEPSAC on fire. The Avon Old Farms rising senior is an all-around scorer who can fill it up from all three levels. He's 6-foot-4 and extremely strong-bodied, so he does a good job keeping his line to the rim and finishing at the cup with contact—his off hand is also quite active and strong. But he also has a nice three-point shot and can get his looks off with a hand in his face or while off balance because of his shot angle. Edwards is a relentless rim attacker who you have to play up on because of his shooting threat—he's a scholarship player who should continue to see his stock rise while at Avon.

This weekend, I'll be attending the NEPSAC Showcase at Worcester Academy in Worcester, MA. Games will be going all day Friday-Sunday, and I'll be in the gym throughout.
