Romeoville Pre-Live Event: Steve’s Saturday Stars

Saturday marked the final day of the Romeoville Pre-Live event. Just like the previous two days, the courts were packed with talent. Here are the top standouts from the final slate of games.   [player_tooltip player_id='2821119' first='Isaiah' last='Robertson'] | 6'6" Forward | Plainfield South (2027)   Robertson is a long, athletic 6'6" forward who project more as a versatile wing than a traditional post player. He is a highly effective scorer out of the pick-and-roll and utilizes his length exceptionally well on both ends of the floor. Isaiah excels at keeping the ball high on catches and finishing around the rim with a soft touch. He racked up multiple dunks on Saturday, particularly in his second game. Furthermore, he reads the ball well off the glass and uses a quick second jump to score efficiently in heavy traffic.   Logan Redditt | 5'10" Guard | Plainfield East (2029)   Redditt is a speedy 5'10" guard who thrives when the game speeds up in the open court. Extremely shifty with his handle, he put together a smooth day of scoring from all three levels. His pace and playmaking were instrumental in securing two blowout victories for his team on the day.   Tommy Hayes | 6'2" Guard | North Lawndale (2027)   Hayes was another breakout performer who left a distinct mark in Romeoville. He is a slender 6'2" guard who plays with a slick, crafty approach when attacking the basket. He uses simple but effective in-and-out dribbles to break defenders down and finish at the rim. Hayes also caught fire from the perimeter, knocking down seven triples en route to a 40-point performance in a tough loss to Fenwick. Most impressively, Hayes fought through a rough start to the game before completely putting his team on his back.   [player_tooltip player_id='2125620' first='Duke' last='Ross'] | 6'6" Forward | St. Ignatius (2027)   Ross is a fundamentally sound forward who can produce both on the perimeter and around the basket. He fits beautifully into the St. Ignatius system, showing a high basketball IQ regarding when to set screens, slip, cut, or shoot based on defensive rotations. He opened the game with a smooth top-of-the-key three-pointer, then spent the rest of the contest making great reads to score or draw fouls. At 6'6", he is a high-academic prospect who should command plenty of collegiate interest after June.   [player_tooltip player_id='2381426' first='Trent' last='Williams'] | Guard | OPRF (2028)   This weekend provided a great first look at Williams. He impressed as a shifty guard with a tight handle who loves to get into the paint and make plays at the rim. Trent also displayed excellent court vision, consistently playing with his eyes up and looking to facilitate. He is a talented scorer who will make defenses pay if given any breathing room.   [player_tooltip player_id='2532321' first='Elijah' last='Bell'] | Guard | Marian Central Catholic (2027)   An aggressive, attacking guard we first caught during the spring circuit, Bell plays with a noticeable chip on his shoulder. He is a relentless driver who can make plays either through contact or around defenders in the lane. Additionally, he stands out as one of the better rebounding guards in the state.
