Nevada Live: Rising Junior Stock-Risers

LAS VEGAS — Many of the best high school basketball teams and prospects from California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah made the trip to Vegas for the inaugural Nevada Live Invitational. More than 120 programs packed the Las Vegas Basketball Center - and surrounding high school gyms - to play in front of college coaches in the final scholastic live viewing period of June. Below we break down the class of 2028 prospects who raised their stock.    Williams was a tough cover for most opponents on the weekend because of his combination of skill, strength inside-out scoring ability. At 6-feet-5, the Bishop Gorman product is effective in face-up situations where uses his frame bully defenders out of position and uses angles and touch to score at the rim. Williams is also a capable three-point and mid-range shooter of the jab or off the catch with time and space.     Mitchell's game has evolved from physical downhill driver and finisher at the rim to a player who still does that well but has increased the consistency of his perimeter shooting. Mitchell brings toughness to both ends of the floor, has the size, strength and mobility to guard on the perimeter and inside and his ability to stretch the floor has opened up driving lanes that compliments his attack mentality well.     Agbo has been one of Southern California's most effective transition slashers and finishers since the day he entered high school with his combination of physical tools and powerful athleticism led to him being one of the best at-rim finishers in the region. Agbo is also a multi-positional defender who rebounds in and out of his area, plays with a high motor and is a fiery competitor.     Mize will step into an increased offensive role this season and took full advantage of that at Nevada Live. The wiry 6-foot-5 shooting guard hit off-catch threes with deep range and multiple spot consistency but also got out in transition and scored at the rim on quick and explosive straight-line drives. Mize's combination of size, length and shooting ability will translate well to the next level.     Carter is an explosive playmaker who makes things happen on both ends of the floor with his dynamic athleticism, high motor and instinctual defensive ability. Carter's combination of lateral speed, anticipation of passing lanes and quick break on the ball allowed him to disrupt ball handlers and make plays in passing lanes. Offensively, the Arizona-based point guard put pressure on the rim with his aggressiveness in transition.     Smith is your prototypical small guard who puts pressure on the rim with his blow-by ability in transition and one-on-one situations. The 5-foot-8 point guard gets into the lane at-will and can finish with a savvy floater, crafty layup but is always looking to create for teammates with a drive-and-kick pass. Where Smith makes his biggest impact is with his intangibles as an on-ball pressure defender with quick hands and disruptive mindset.     Terry is an intriguing long-term wing prospect due to his combination of size, length, athleticism and perimeter offensive skill. The 6-foot-4 guard/wing had his three-point and pull-up mid-range jumpers dialed in, knew good shot from bad shot and allowed the game to come to him without forcing the issue. Terry has high level defensive potential with his physical and athletic tools.
