Phillips also takes on handling responsibilities and shares it cohesively well with others. Will see the floor on drives for drop offs or kick outs after drawing plus defenders. The lefty point should be in store for a sound senior year that brings ball toughness and instinct.     One of the top ranked 27' prospects out of Iowa. Caught team's mid afternoon game on Saturday and he showed why. Confident lead guard that controlled game with shot making, down hill attacking, and leadership role. Possesses a textbook looking jumper that he can get into off the dribble while creating space or up against pressure. Was a tough out to stay in front of. Got to the stripe multiple times while enduring contact on dribble drive action. A nifty passer as well that sees multiple phases in team's schemes on offense. Vocalized and communicated to teammates throughout as well. I would consider one of the top catalysts I saw this weekend regardless of position.     A skilled guard with IQ in multiple phases. Welch runs the Maroons offense without much of any hiccup. Has a deep bag to go off the dribble. Maybe labeled as undersized but his quickness and ability to get to spots while creating separation pays off. In midafternoon game on Sunday he drilled a tough pull-up three off the bounce, knocked down a fadeaway jumper from 15 feet, and consistently created advantages while splitting gaps off the dribble. Passing wise he delivered assists to cutters or drawing help when getting to cup and making proper kick out reads. The combination of pace and creation makes him difficult to cover in the ½ court and open floor setting. Will continue to garner more traction on the scouting trail.     A dynamic scoring point guard with legit size. Impacts the game in a variety of ways. Consistently creates off of a shifty handle while altering change of speeds with the rock. Comes off ball screens quickly and effectively with sound rhythm and instinct. Has touch from three levels. Tallied him for 3 treys in team's early afternoon game on Sunday with one being from NBA range. Was really chopping guys up off the bounce while delivering pin-point passes in transition or in the ½ court setting. Defensively grinds out plays and generated multiple turnovers. Plus athleticism that next level coaches should be taking multiple looks at during senior campaign.
