Potential D1 Post Prospects to Track in 2029

Remember this is a prospect ranking. Not necessarily what they are right now, but what we project long term. These are the top 2029 Post Prospects that have established themselves early in the process.    Wallace is a beast down low who impacted from day one for New Trier! The powerful and athletic center brings physicality, nimble footwork, and touch around the hoop while also being able to throw down powerful slams as well. Runs the floor hard and overall is extremely efficient with his post touches. Has the Hartenstein push shot in his game as well. Monster area rebounder and is like a brick wall on the defensive end in the paint!     Threatt is a four man that brings a ton of physical and developmental upside to the table combined with his athletic gifts and motor he has already shown. There was some Morez Johnson comps thrown around by our staff in July. High energy De La Salle post snatches rebounds at a high level and is an impactful defender being able to switch along with protect the rim. Finishes out of the dunker spot with explosive slams, puts it on the deck from the mid-post, and rim runs.     Every time we saw Mason we came away more intrigued with his long term potential. At 6'7” he already has legit size and a frame to continue to add strength. He is the son of former West Aurora wing Dameon Mason who was a standout in college. High points rebounds in traffic being a quality rebounder. Fluid movements with great hands and can really pass it as a five man making reads on the fly. Flashes as a post scorer with moves and dunks. Defensively he has a chance to be a game changer with his rim protection covering a ton of ground!     We saw Henderson quite a bit over the last six months. He showed promise at the state finals then had a solid summer with BBE and Leo. When he is assertive round the hoop using his athleticism getting on the offensive glass, finishing out of the dunker spot, and showing touch on his hook shot he is a super tough cover as he can also stretch to three. Defensively is a switchable defender with rim protection upside.     Love the upside here with this Burlington Central face up four man. Can stretch the floor with his shooting, but isn't a one trick pony. Plays off his athleticism running the floor, catching lobs, and finishing out of the dunker spot. Quality rebounder and a nice shot blocking presence. The upside of athleticism and skill here make him very intriguing!     This is one of the posts who does not get talked about enough in this class. The 6'6” four man has broad shoulders and a frame where he will continue to grow laterally and fill out. The mobility and athleticism really stand out. Runs the floor with ease, can deck it off shot fakes for drives, and is a capable shooter with a nice looking stroke. Defensively he can switch in ball screens.     Newman is the next star big man at Deerfield after Pollack graduated and is headed to the Ivy League. The physicality and toughness around the hoop combined with skill are what stand out about Newman. Rebounds well in his area and has quick moves on the block including spins converting with either hand.     Multiple evals of Harris with both his high school team and The Work Foundation had him emerge in this group of posts. The mobility, size, and frame along with plus athleticism jump off the floor. Very good offensive rebounder and can pass it for a post.
