The month of May has come to a close and we turn the page to what will be a hectic June. Filled with team camps, the Scholastic Live Period and other events/camps during the non-live period, we'll have no shortage of content here on the site breaking down all the action. For this week though, we reflect on the month that was and the prospects of the 2027 class who look to be demanding a bump in the next update.

A quiet, steady production is what Etolue has been up to this spring playing on the EYBL Circuit with [program_tooltip program_id='2077004' first='Team' last='Takeover']. Despite the team facing its struggles, Etolue's performances have given him some hope as a prospect entering his senior year of high school. He had a strong showing in S3 as he averaged 12.8PPG and 5RPG while converting over 43 percent of his looks from the field. A downhill, physical guard who can toggle between multiple positions, he's been effective in the open floor finishing through contact, attacking closeouts and acting as a connector who can come through to shift momentum.

Colston continues to give reasons for a slight bump in the next rankings update with undeniable stats. Whether it be through video game-like numbers in Capitol Hoops Summer League averaging a double-double of 32.8PPG and 10.3RPG while also accounting for 3.5SPG and 3APG or him being the go-to option for his TTO National group, Colston consistently decorating the box score and winning in the process. Currently at No. 45, it's going to be tough to keep him out of the top 40 and maybe even close to No. 30 if he sustains this level through the end of July.

I had very limited live viewings of Issah during the 2025-26 high school season as he was sidelined with injuries, but in recent events he's shown why the film before he made the move to Maryland was intriguing. His motor runs high, he takes a pride on the glass and has gradually flashed powerful athleticism around the rim. Issah has also taken advantage of some opportunities this spring and summer to step away from the rim and prove his touch. While it's still a work in progress, his perimeter game is something I think can improve over time and will add more value as a Division I prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='3530453' first='Malakai' last='Jones'] | 2027 | Blue Devils [program_tooltip program_id='2458561' first='Global' last='Squad']

Current ranking: No. 113

Jones is one of the juniors who will step up in a much more involved role for this high school team this winter. He manned the controls for the back half of last season for Glenelg Country and while playing point guard wasn't his primary position, he found a way to improve his command, control of pace and overall playmaking. He poses great size for a combo guard at 6'4" that helps create mismatches against smaller guards that he can take to the cup or rise over the top for jumpers. If he faces a bigger guard, his quick first step exploits driving lanes where he can finish with craft. He's a key cog for the BDGS MHC team and should have not only a good chance of movement with his recruitment, but also a healthy boost into the top 100 in the next udpate.

Current ranking: No. 159

Colvin has been one of the more improved overall prospects of this 2027 class in the Baltimore Metro area. He first brings good side as a hybrid forward at 6'5" with athleticism that pops. He has explosion when he gets off the ground and over the last year as he's adapted to a more competitive level and speed, is becoming a routine lob threat. He's capable of doing damage in the midrange as well and brings consistent energy to the glass. Not only is he becoming an important piece for HC Joey O'Dwyer's Thrill MHC team, he's going to be a focal point for the league as he returns to Concordia Prep.
