KABC Bluegrass Shootout Sunday Standouts from Lexington Catholic

The best live period event in the state of Kentucky came to end today. A loaded slate of talented teams with top ranked players converged at Lexington Catholic for five competitive games. Here are the standout's from Sunday's KABC Bluegrass Shootout games at Lexington Catholic:    The 6'1” 2029 Guard from Ballard came up with some big time plays in the second half of the Bruins win over Ben Davis (IN) in the first game of the day. Talented offensive scorer that plays within himself. He's capable of playing on or off the ball. He does a good job taking what the defense gives him and attacks hard. Was able to connect on three catch and shoot 3's late. Possesses a clean, repeatable stroke. Was really good on defensive end. Longer wingspan that allows him to play passing lanes, pressure ball handlers, and rebound from the guard spot.     [player_tooltip player_id='2420149' first='Nikolas' last='Reed'] of Ben Davis is quickly becoming one of my favorite players in the Indiana in-state class of 2028. The physical 6'5” forward plays bigger than what he is. He had the task of guarding Ballard's talented center in the first game of the day and did about as good a job as you could ask. He fights for position on the defensive end denying entry passes while being active on the boards on both ends. Offensively, the jump shot is a work in progress, but Niko is an extremely skilled forward that is like a bull in a China Shop getting downhill going to his left and finishing well around the basket.     One of the better individual shooting performances I saw came from the 6'6” 2027 Wing from North Oldham. [player_tooltip player_id='2392232' first='Tommy' last='Gregg'] in the second half of the Mustangs blowout win over Silver Creek (IN) went on an absolute tear from three knocking down a handful of 3's in a matter of a few game minutes. Really skilled offensive player with good size and strength.     The Prep Hoops Indiana #1 2029 player continues to impress this spring. Elite scorer that does it in a variety of different ways. Got going from three in his team's win over Christian Academy of Louisville, and then from there he did a good job taking what the defense gave him. As talented of a scorer that he is, he's a very unselfish player that has great court vision. He's a willing passer and after that, he never stands. He's a good cutter off the ball and uses his body well to create space and finish plays on cuts.     Long and athletic 6'7” Forward that gets better every time I see him. Plays like he has springs in his feet. Quick second jumper that affects the game around the rim on both ends of the floor. Good hands. Big time rebounder and a mobile big that runs the floor well. Has shown that he's willing to take the occasional jump shot, but a lot of his points came off dump offs and offensive rebounds.
