IU Team Camp – Eight Eye-Catchers From Saturday

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It has been a very busy week of travel due to following around the Indiana All-Star series, but we still found time to hit Team Camps/Shootouts at both Indiana and Purdue. Our whole team of Prep Hoops Indiana scouts had boots on the ground in Bloomington on Saturday for the Darian DeVries Indiana High School Team Camp. The 6'8" center moves well for his size, makes real post moves to score inside, and did a great job of rebounding against other talented big men on Saturday. Johnson, considered one of the top prospects in Kentucky's Class of 2029, had his impressive strength and physicality on display. He was able to operate out of the high post consistently with strong right-handed drives to the basket. The 6'4" forward also finished post moves against bigger defenders. Keller is a 6'3" guard with good positional size on the perimeter and excellent three-point shooting ability. The 6'7" wing knocked in a catch-and-shoot three, something he does consistently now, made an athletic finish in transition, and drove it to the paint for a tough intermediate range finish. The 6'1' guard has impressive physical strength for a young player and uses it to play through contact off of the dribble and finish at the end of his drives. Myrick is such a talented shot-maker from every level of the floor. He creates his own shot off of the bounce and has the size/athleticism to get it off over defenders consistently, but he is also a high percentage catch-and-shoot threat. He immediately stood out with his end-to-end quickness and how he handled the ball against consistent pressure. Welton was able to beat his man off of the bounce and make good decisions while being guarded tightly and moving at full speed. His finishing against size and playmaking at the end of his drives really caught our attention. There is certainly no shortage of size on this team and Whitehead, a 6'6" forward with incredible physical tools, is a key piece of the front court. He is an outstanding rebounder and really hard for others to handle around the basket.
