Highfill Hoops x Assist invitational 2027 standouts pt. 1

The First Annual Highfill Hoops x Assist Invitational was a huge success. The event was tailored for prospects looking to get their names out there to college coaches and also get high-level coaching. The one-day event in Richmond, VA, featured some of the top prospects from VA, MD, and NC, with 50 different players. The event had over 10 college coaches there to evaluate, and overall, many prospects came away increasing their stock.    [player_tooltip player_id='3275748' first='Bodi' last='Corley'] is a 6'9 F who is an athletic, strong force. Once he gets the ball in the paint, it's hard to stop him. Posts up hard and finished through contact. Ran the floor at an elite level, finishing with multiple monster putback dunks. Defends the paint and showed he can guard smaller guards on the perimeter. Saw a lot of double teams and showed the ability to hit the open man. Look for him to flourish as his 12-15 foot jumper game continues to grow—high character, coachable. [player_tooltip player_id='3275748' first='Bodi' last='Corley'] came away from the event as the MVP with some monster performances. He had a 20-point and 15-rebound performance in their first game. Bodi gained interest from every college program in attendance, with many schools stating he is a scholarship-level kid.     Easily one of the biggest stock risers from the event. Langston is a very efficient guard who can score in a variety of ways. He's a good shooter, a great competitor on both sides of the ball, and a high-IQ player. He had multiple occasions where he looked like the best guard on the floor. Every college program walked away from the event with his name circled! Langston is going to have a huge year at North Cross. He scored in multiple different ways and continued to show he's one of the top guards in VA.     Cam is a great point of attack player on both offense and defense. He is a reliable scorer who can fill up a stat sheet with deep range threes, floaters, and layups, while also facilitating to the open guy even while having the hot hand. Cam shot 40% from three-point land, while also having 5 assists per game through 3 total contests. What surprised me the most was Cam's selflessness to get others going early on in the game; his maturity and IQ opened up the court for his team's offense to get the scoreboard lit up early. Cam is the complete package in a college looking for a point guard at the next level.     Jovin was dominant at the event, showing his physicality and versatility to guard and play multiple positions. Jovin had multiple double-double games and some big-time plays. Jovin has been one of the biggest stock risers this summer, and he came away from the event with every college coach circling his name. Jovin is known to have a non-stop motor, which is rare to come by in bigger forwards nowadays. I fully expect Jovin to become a scholarship player and continue to dominate the rest of the summer.      Chris was one of the top point guards at the event showing his playmaking ability, leadership skills, and scoring abilities from multiple levels. He always seems to do a good job reading ball screens effectively to get to his spots or to create for others. Chris does an excellent job of getting 2 feet in the paint, causing easy opportunities for himself and others. He had a lot of big-time plays on the weekend, having multiple Division 3 programs and a Division 1 Juco expressing tons of interest after the event. Chris is a fearless competitor and major leader for the [program_tooltip program_id='3424568' first='Team' last='Loaded Gold'] group who went 3-0 on the day and improved to 28-0 on the season.     Final Thoughts   In conclusion, the event showcased some of the top talent in the region, and it's easy to see why so many college coaches were there and raving about the event. The Highfill Hoops staff plans on having another event in September featuring more of the top players to help them prepare for their high school seasons.
