Happy Rock Tournament – Top Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The annual Happy Rock Tournament took place this past weekend at Gladstone High School and we had the opportunity to drop by on Sunday to catch some of the action. The rising senior simply could not miss from the perimeter as he was hitting threes left and right, often times with a hand in his face. Getting the ball from kick-outs, his release was quick and smooth as the ball simply was nothing but net as he knocked down seven threes. The rising senior was dominant with his control of the game with the rock in his hands, continually making great decisions both in the halfcourt and in transition. He was unstoppable off the drive into the lane where he'd either absorb contact and get the finish or kick it out to his open shooters. The rising senior simply has full control of the game when he's running the point, capably running the offense or taking over with his own offense when needed. That only enhances his game as in addition to his motor, it's allowed him to be an even more dominant rebounder and that was fully evident in Sandy's big win over David Douglas. Logan pulled with 18 boards with a handful of them on the offensive glass leading to putbacks. His jumper looked solid and he converted some attacks at the hoop, including one powerful two-handed slam in traffic, finishing with 19 points. The rising senior was deadly from deep, hitting six threes, but was also hitting from the mid-range and also using the dribble to create for himself and getting finishes around the hoop, especially in transition. Cantwell has been one of the top perimeter shooters in the state that most people haven't heard of but as a primary scorer this upcoming season for the Hawks, that will obviously change.
