made the decision to fully focus on basketball. The athletic 6-foot-5 guard from Clackamas knew of his potential in the game and was going to go all out and pursue his collegiate options. Fast forward to the start of this summer and that choice has paid off.

will be playing college basketball at Santa Clara and he's the first member of the Class of 2027 to make a college commitment.
"It's just a great opportunity," Martinov said. "In Santa Clara, they have a great community, great environment, and something that I look forward to being around. The players are great, the coaching staff is great, and it's great facilities in a great location."
Martinov made his decision not long after making his official visit to campus. He's enjoyed getting to know head coach Herb Sendek and his staff and he's excited about how he fits in both currently and in the future. "They have a great system of playing fast," Martinov said. "They have a great coaching staff and they'll put me in the right spot at the right time. They'll help me get bigger, learn, and grow from where I am right now."
With his decision in the books, Martinov hopes to continue to improve this summer as he plays with the Cascade Kings on the AAU circuit. "It's been a great experience," Martinov said. "I've been getting downhill, playing off two (feet), and making the right read. I've been better at defense, keeping my man in front, and better with help slides. I just want to do what it takes to win. Whatever environment it is, that I can just adapt to it and do whatever I need to win."
And there's his senior season ahead as well. This June playing with Clackamas, he and fellow returnees such as RJ Barhoum have adjusted quite nicely to some of the new transfers joining the team. The goal of course is a return to the Chiles Center. "Our chemistry is looking really good," Martinov said. "Everyone's playing together, getting open shots, and passing good. It's been great."
Our congratulations go out to Martinov and his family on his commitment.
