June 4th-6th I attended the annual Best in Basketball Summer Invitational. It is the premier warm up event for the prestigious Section-7 with 20 Section-7 weekend teams plus others who have a chance to qualify for the weekend.

I watched every team 2-3 times and came up with many different categories to place each prospect.

Here were the Top SG/SF Shooters

[player_tooltip player_id='2457855' first='Lucas' last='Alvarado'] Pinnacle

A bigger guard comes off the bench and he immediately produces. He can play some of the lead role or move over to the off guard or even the wing with his size. He can fill it up quickly with mid-range pull-ups, threes off the catch or pull and can get to the basket with his height.

[player_tooltip player_id='2639654' first='Kaden' last='Adams'] Higley

A bigger guard can play some on or off the ball. He is a cerebral player and a smart passer. He makes extra passes and will move the ball. He is a great shooter from the three point line off the catch and can get to the basket or pull-up from mid-range. He will be a vital part of their team success this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2733555' first='Noah' last='Corrigan'] NVCA

A bigger guard is one of the teams main scorers from the perimeter. He can get hot quickly with catch and shoot threes, mid-range J's and he will crossover into a middy pull-up, which is clearly his best move. He brings good experience and intelligence to the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2767427' first='Bronson' last='Hedges'] Campo Verde

A good sized guard with a ton of skill. He is very smart and gets to his spots on the floor. He will rattle in triples one by one off the catch or pull and score with offensive rebound put backs and mid-range pull-ups. He reads the court well and always seems to be in the right spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432568' first='Cyler' last='Jessup'] Valley Christian

A bigger combo guard is nursing an injury but playing thru it and he did well. He will hit the open three, cut off the ball and he is getting downhill better then he did last year. He is a good passer and is taking more pride in defending with using his length on defense and rebounding with his improving athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146268' first='Brock' last='Knee'] Arcadia

Another one of the top shooters at the event hit some huge ones in clutch moments. He was the Co-MOP of the whole event. He will hit catch threes with parking lot type of range and gets it off of his hands quickly. He will also shoot it with mid-range pull-ups, fall aways and score with offensive rebound put backs. He can drive and kick it to a teammate.

[player_tooltip player_id='3025654' first='Spencer' last='Lowe'] Red Mountain (Pictured)

A scoring guard is almost a specialist for the East Valley team. He is a catch three point shooter and constantly moves without the ball. He has a good stoke with a clean repeated action and a quicker trigger. When he spaces the floor, the Mountain Lions are tough to beat.

[player_tooltip player_id='2825320' first='Dasaan' last='Schaeffer'] Chavez

A thicker wing forward is very smart and highly skilled. His skill is slowly polishing up with threes off the catch and a very consistent mid-range jumper he often utilizes. He will get to the basket and score with and-1's thru contact and he is a very good passer in traffic.

[player_tooltip player_id='3528866' first='Monte' last='Smith'] NVCA

A good sized scoring guard or wing forward has a pretty stroke from the three point line off the catch. He can score with mid-range pull-ups and he is starting to post up a little utilizing his size. The ball comes off of his hands so easily from with mid-range pull-ups and catch threes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2280210' first='Josh' last='Stewart'] Mesa

One of the sharp shooters of the team is Stewart. He will score with mid-range pull-ups off the dribble, off the glass contested layups, floaters with a nice touch and volleyball line threes with real range. He will get on the floor and hustle for loose balls and brings confidence to the court.
