I caught one of Lucas Alvarado Lucas Alvarado 6'3" | CG Pinnacle | 2028 State AZ ‘s games last year at the Prep Hoops Bash in the Desert, and he’s added quite a bit to his repertoire since then. He is a confident ball handler who pushes the pace up the court. From there, he can utilize his deceptive handle to create his own shot. He was draining both mid-range jumpers and threes. I also noticed him looking for teammates when he had the defense’s attention. Overall, I was a fan of how he played, and he looks like a guard who’s trending in the right direction.

Lucas Alvarado Lucas Alvarado 6'3" | CG Pinnacle | 2028 State AZ impressed me with his IQ and instincts during the Prep Hoops Bash In The Desert. On defense, he was covering ground at a rapid rate and forced opponents to pass the ball off or take ill advised shots. I also noticed him come up with a few steals. On offense, he can get to the cup or hit shots from the outside. In addition to his skillset, he has good size for a guard.

He showcased good lift and consistency on his jumper, knocking down shots with confidence throughout the day. He put pressure on the defense by attacking downhill and keeping defenders on their heels. With a tight handle and confident approach, he was effective in breaking down defenders off the dribble and creating scoring opportunities. He also rebounded well from the guard spot —moving freely and making plays all over the floor. His all-around activity and confidence stood out.
