UA Association: More New Jersey Standouts From Session II

A highly anticipated weekend on the grassroots basketball calendar in the May Live Period tipped off this past weekend and lived up to expectations. Marking the first chance for college coaches to return to the gym for in person evaluations, the weekend brought an electric atmosphere and no shortage of high level competition. Under Armour's second session in Hamilton, OH featured a stacked lineup of competitive games and standout talent from all across the country, and several New Jersey prospects were among those who made strong impressions. With that in mind, here's another look at some of the top performers from Session II of the UAA circuit.    An extremely dynamic point guard who blends impressive speed and creativity off the bounce to score at each level paired with sharp decision making as a decisive facilitator, Alex Pace once again impressed showcasing the versatility, aggressiveness, and confidence that makes him a dangerous overall playmaking threat from multiple different areas on the floor. Pace possesses the ability to get wherever he wants off the bounce— using sharp dribble combination moves to break his defender down to absorb contact and get in the lane while also creating separation off the bounce to display his perimeter shooting range and balance and soft touch in the mid range area. Beyond his scoring ability, Pace also embraced a facilitator's role with an unselfish mindset and sharp playmaking instincts, consistently making the right reads to keep defenses unsettled.     Returning to his first action this weekend from an ankle injury that's had him sideline for an extended period of time since January, [player_tooltip player_id='2504902' first='Jamieson' last='Young'] seemed to look extremely comfortable readjusting to live game action and providing a much needed scoring pop to this 16U We R1 group— stepping into clean in rhythm looks with sound footwork and strong balance out on the perimeter as a spot up shooter with his soft and natural soft outside shooting touch while also countering that three point shot making ability by leveraging that shooting gravity into paint touches and attacking the basket and driving angles and finishing with craftiness from different angles around the rim.     A smooth combo guard that plays with impressive pace off the bounce and natural feel for the game, [player_tooltip player_id='1406765' first='Milak' last='Myatt'] blends crafty and versatile scoring ability with strong hints of decisive facilitation. Showing some strong flashes of his overall playmaking ability, Myatt displayed efficiency and consistency from the perimeter as a confident three point shooter while also creating separation off the bounce and getting to certain spots on the floor. All while also showcased strong court vision and feel as a decision maker, making a number of advanced reads with the ball in his hands and proving capable of balancing scoring responsibilities with playmaking duties.     Proving to be an ideal complementary piece, [player_tooltip player_id='2683649' first='Mike' last='Simborski'] excelled in his role as an off ball scoring threat while also playing on both ends of the floor with infectious energy and effort. Simborski put together strong flashes of finding ways to punish defensive breakdowns and rotations— attacking gaps decisively off the bounce while also display his polished jumper connecting on some open spot up looks from three point range.     Although still raw and in the very early stages of his development, [player_tooltip player_id='3040515' first='Shriyans' last='Mallavarapu'] still figured out ways to be productive and effective with his extremely lengthy frame in spot minutes throughout the course of the live period this weekend. Showing some really strong flashes of his activity in the paint, Mallavarapu proved to be really impactful— impressing particularly as an area rebounder snatching rebounds out of the air and as a shot blocker swatting shots out of bounds with timely anticipation.
