This past weekend at Prep Hoops Live, several players elevated their stock with standout performances. Some were ranked prospects looking to climb even higher, while others were under-the-radar names who used the weekend to put themselves firmly on the map. These five players gained some traction and turned some heads.

Byron is a two-way, high-motor guard who does whatever it takes to win. Basketball Paradise had a great weekend at Prep Hoops Live, and Byron was the engine behind much of that success. Against Alexander Alive, he consistently beat defenders off the bounce and made smart downhill decisions by taking what the defense gave him. He was excellent around the rim, finishing through contact multiple times while showing toughness and body control. Byron also flashed some shiftiness with the ball along with sneaky athleticism. He finished with an efficient 14 points and was one of the more impactful guards I watched all weekend.

Lawrence has never seen a loose ball that he didn't like. Playing for [program_tooltip program_id='3312356' first='Team' last='Dynasty'] he was everywhere on the defensive end. The highest defensive motor that I saw all weekend. Playing against Team Iowa, Lawrence was always in the passing lanes and made great reads for multiple steals. He seemed to have a magnet for the ball. He also got up for a couple of blocks that most players would not be able to get to. A rangy lockdown that has great defensive versatility. He paired that up with a soft touch around the rim and the ability to finish through contact.

Dwane is a very intriguing 6-foot-6 prospect with length, versatility, and long-term upside. The lefty forward showcased his ability as a spot-up shooter against [program_tooltip program_id='2075830' first='Sharks' last='Basketball Academy'] by knocking down multiple threes with confidence. Defensively, he impacted the game all over the floor. He protected the rim effectively while also showing the foot speed to switch onto guards on the perimeter. Dwane still has room to physically develop and add strength, but the tools and versatility make him a player who should firmly be on coaches' and scouts' radars moving forward.

Tamaren may have had the quickest first step of anyone I watched this weekend. The lightning-fast guard consistently put pressure on defenses with his burst and ability to create off the dribble. Playing for the [program_tooltip program_id='2948714' first='Motor' last='City Dragons'], he put his offensive skill set on full display. Against [program_tooltip program_id='2077010' first='Common' last='Bond'], he repeatedly blew by defenders for easy finishes at the rim while also showcasing a tight handle that made him extremely difficult to contain in space. Defensively, he made several impressive hustle plays, including jumping passing lanes for steals seemingly out of nowhere. Tamaren's stock is clearly trending upward after a strong weekend performance.

Cooper is a versatile forward with a relentless motor and a winning mentality. Against All Love, he attacked the rim early and often, finishing through contact multiple times and establishing himself as a physical presence inside. Defensively, he impacted every area of the game — carving out space on the glass, protecting the rim, and holding his own switching onto guards on the perimeter. Cooper completely took over late in the second half against All Love. He calmly knocked down two clutch free throws to give his team a three-point lead in the closing seconds before sealing the game with a heads-up steal on the ensuing possession.
