Trae might have the biggest upside of any player who took the floor in Kansas City over the weekend. Extremely skilled and confident — especially on the offensive end — he operated frequently with the ball in his hands. Fields consistently got to his spots and created openings, showing a feel for reading and attacking primary defenders. His shooting looks to be his biggest strength, showing he can heat up quickly, as he caught fire from both the mid-range and beyond the arc, creating space quickly and efficiently. He also moves and relocates off the ball, finding openings and cutting through different defensive coverages. Add in Trae's passing and vision and you can start to see his entire game rounding into form and continuing to grow and develop. As he continues to grow into his frame and add strength, he becomes even more intriguing, especially considering how much more his game still has to offer.

There's no doubt Keaton is one of the more sought-after names in the 2028 class, and it didn't take long on Saturday to see why. His size and athleticism immediately stood out as he lived in transition and consistently operated in the open floor throughout the day. With his ability to get downhill with pace and finish at the rim — especially going to his left hand — he was tough for defenders to contain. Even at full speed, he played under control, showing a strong command and feel for the game as he read the floor and made the right basketball play. His shooting also made an impression, as he connected from the perimeter both off the catch and by creating space off the dribble. Not to be overlooked, he showed he's a legitimate two-way player. On the defensive end, he was constantly around the ball, creating turnovers, getting deflections, and closing off driving angles.

When you talk about point guard play, Barrett's name rises to the top of the conversation. The best point guards impact the game by getting others involved while creating advantages, and that's exactly what he did at the KC Classic. With the ball in his hands, Barrett was most effective — probing, reading defenses, and consistently putting pressure on the paint. His ability to read coverages in ball screen situations and manipulate the defense led to multiple scoring opportunities for both himself and his teammates. He used his body well as both a ball handler and an attacking player, creating space to pull up quickly or get all the way to the rim. With his quickness and athleticism continuing to grow and added size on the perimeter, he's in line to make another jump soon.

An aggressive, active two-way wing, Abbott looks the part physically and has the game to match. He controlled play on both ends of the floor. His defensive versatility allowed him to guard multiple positions, rotate effectively, and even protect the rim with his athleticism and timing. More impressively, he consistently defended primary ball handlers and kept them in front. On the offensive end, he showed a little bit of everything — attacking off the wing and playing off two feet, stretching the floor, and hitting the offensive glass. His do-it-all style of play has next-level impact written all over it, and he should continue to turn heads throughout the spring and summer.

One of the top shooters in Kansas City over the weekend, McGuire caught fire from beyond the arc, really coming into his own on Sunday as he shot the lights out and carried his team for different stretches. His ability to drift and relocate put pressure on scrambling defenses, most notably when he created even a small window of space. Brecken showed a quick release in drive-and-kick situations and was just as effective shooting off the bounce, staying balanced and rising up over defenders consistently. He also brought grit on the defensive end and showed potential as a strong positional rebounder and ball handler. If he continues to add size and strength, he should set himself up for a strong winter ahead.

Castor was at it again in Kansas City, showing up as one of the more competitive players I've seen in person — playing with passion and intensity on both ends of the floor. His combination of quick hands and feet defensively allows him to play much bigger than his frame and helps him create scoring chances off his aggressive defense. He really caused chaos defending opposing ball handlers, pushing offenses well off the three-point line. With his sudden change of pace offensively, he gets downhill whenever he wants and can finish in a variety of ways. Jordan also gets to the charity stripe, showing his ability to initiate and consistently draw contact when attacking the rim. He continues to build on a strong spring that has already seen him generate multiple next-level offers.
