The spring portion of the AAU season continues to role on as we heads toward Memorial Day weekend. With the Holiday weekend coming up, the basketball ramps up with Session 3 of EYBL taking place in Kansas City on a loaded four day spurt of games. Prep Hoops Indiana will have boots on the ground in Kansas City this weekend and will be providing top notch coverage throughout the entire time. With that said, here is part one of my own personal players to watch this weekend.

Starting off with the highest rated on this watch list and even though he may be playing many states away for the Oakland Soldiers, [player_tooltip player_id='2267046' first='Jason' last='Gardner Jr.'] is certainly a player to keep an eye on this weekend. Gardner Jr. has had a strong spring as it was expected he would with multiple high major programs watching him last weekend during the evaluation period. This weekend should be another strong showing from the elite guard in the lane.

UNRANKD 17u will be in action this weekend on the EYCL circuit and one of the many players to watch for them is junior small froward [player_tooltip player_id='2137375' first='Carter' last='Murans']. Murans was been a bright spot on the wing for them this spring with his length and athleticism. Murans is also one of the smoothest shooters for his size in the Indiana Class of 2027, as well. A rising player to watch this weekend.

A top 10 player in the Indiana Class of 2028 that will be in action this weekend for [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 16u is [player_tooltip player_id='2560351' first='Chandon' last='Gilbert']. The 6'5 small forward has quietly had a real solid spring for [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] and it still seems his rise only getting started. A true, athletic prospect that plays with explosiveness and defends at a good level. Expect a breakout sooner than later with him.

The player on the UNRANKD 17u squad that we want ti highlight is Guerin Catholic point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140383' first='Jake' last='Grissom']. To put it simply, Grissom is one of the more productive and dynamic point guards you will find in the in-state 2027 class. He is a super tough guard that makes plays on the attacks and brings a ton of energy in the backcourt. He is one to keep an eye on this weekend in Kansas City.

The next player that we want to highlight on the UNRNKD 17u team is Westfield combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2850210' first='Bryce' last='Bigsbee']. Bigsbee is still a little bit under-the-radar right now but he has shown some solid flashes throughout this spring. He is a 6'3 prospect that plays like a two-way player that plays above the rim more often than not. A raw prospect that has some intriguing tools.
