We at Prep Hoops VA recently updated our 2027 rankings, expanding over 150 prospects who we feel are ones to watch in the junior class. Here's a look at part two of the guard prospects from the Northern VA area in the rankings.

#57) [player_tooltip player_id='2548309' first='Masyn' last='Miller'] | 6'4” CG | Heritage-Leesburg

Miller was part of one of the best backcourts in NOVA public schools if not the entire state, and they all return next year to try to get the state championship they just missed out on this year. The 6'4” combo is a highly talented scoring guard who can drill it from deep at a very high rate off the catch, he can attack closeouts and get to spots to knock down pull-ups, and he's a crafty finisher at the rim who can draw contact and get to the line often as well.

#70) [player_tooltip player_id='2470580' first='Elijah' last='Simpkins'] | 6'3” CG | Bishop Ireton

Simpkins has been a player that has been behind some very talented and experienced guards for his career, but he's shown that he has a ton of upside and can get it done himself as well. The 6'3” combo has great length and is a lock down defender both on the ball and in help, he's a smooth lefty who can knock down open shots from deep, and he can attack off the bounce and is a good finisher in traffic and in the midrange too.

#76) [player_tooltip player_id='2252325' first='Daylen' last='Martino'] | 5'10” PG | Fairfax Christian

Martino has been a big part of Fairfax Christian's success over the past few years, as he's been a true floor general who can run the show and set the tone on both ends of the floor. He's got a lightning quick first step and great speed in transition to put pressure on the defense, he sees the floor well and delivers passes on the money, he picks his spots and scores it efficiently, and he is a very good on ball defender too.

#77) [player_tooltip player_id='2898014' first='Dylan' last='Williams'] | 5'10” PG | Heritage-Leesburg

Williams is perhaps the best floor general you will find in the Loudoun County area, as he was the straw that stirred the drink for Heritage's high power offense and success this past season. He is one of those guards that is in total control when he's on the floor as he can direct traffic and control the tempo, he sees the game plays ahead of others and reads rotating defenses to deliver pin-point passes, he doesn't turn it over and handles pressure well, and he makes winning plays when it matters the most.

#79) [player_tooltip player_id='2353648' first='Dylan' last='Fletcher'] | 6'1” PG | Flint Hill

Fletcher was a breakout player this year for Flint Hill on the way to earning All MAC honors, as he put up big numbers all season scoring the ball in bunches. He's a shifty and quick guard who can create space or blow by defenders to get to the rim, he can make tough shots in the midrange and finish over bigger defenders around the rim, he can knock down shots from deep with a quick release, and when defenses start to focus on him he can get his teammates easy shots.

#97) [player_tooltip player_id='3499719' first='Brady' last='Conklin'] | 6'0” PG | Woodson

Conklin was the breakout player for Woodson this year, emerging as a dual threat guard who can fill it up and make plays for others, and was an All Region player after taking over the primary ball handling duties for them. He's surprisingly quick and shifty with the ability to change speeds and break down defenders to get in the lane, he makes good decisions and reads the defense well to find open teammates, he can drill it from deep with range, and he is a tough matchup who can give defenders fits.

#103) Jonathan “JJ” Bell | 6'1” PG | Gar-Field

Bell has been an absolute bucket from the day he stepped on the floor as a freshman at Gar-Field, and this year he was named the District Player of the Year and surpassed the 1,000 point mark as just a junior. He is super quick off the bounce and has great end-to-end speed in the open floor, he's a true three level scorer who can work on or off the ball and fill it up in bunches, and his confidence is something that you don't see in a lot of guards his age.
